The ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION AND MAINTAINANCE NC III


qualification consists of competencies that a person must achieve to produce
organic farm products such as chicken and vegetables including production of
organic supplements such as fertilizer, concoctions and extracts. It has two (2)
elective competencies which are on raising organic hogs and small ruminants.

This qualification is packaged from the competency map of the


BUILDING CONSTRUCTION sector.

The units of competency comprising this qualification include the


following:

HOW TO USE THIS COMPETENCY BASED LEARNING MATERIAL

Welcome!

The unit of competency, PREPARE ELECTRICAL POWER AND


HYDRAULIC TOOLS “”, is one of competencies of ELECTRICAL
INSTALLATION AND MAINTAINANCE NC III , a course which comprises
the knowledge, skills and attitude required to complete the competency.

The module, PREPARING ELECTRICAL POWER AND HYDRAULIC


TOOLS, contains training materials and activities for you to complete.

In this module, you are required to go through a series of learning


activities to complete each learning outcome of the module. In each
learning outcome are Information Sheets, Self-Checks, Task Sheets
and Job Sheets. Follow these activities on your own. If you have
questions, do not hesitate to ask for assistance from your facilitator.

This module is prepared to help you achieve the required


competency in “PREPARING ELECTRICAL POWER AND HYDRAULIC
TOOLS”.

This will be the source of information for you to acquire knowledge


and skills in this particular competency independently and at your own
pace, with minimum supervision or help from your facilitator.

 Perform the Task Sheets and Job Sheets until you are confident
that your output conforms to the Performance Criteria Checklist
that follows the sheets.
 Submit outputs of the Task Sheet and Job Sheets to your
facilitator for evaluation and recording in the Accomplishment
Chart. When you feel confident that you have had sufficient

practice, ask your trainer to evaluate you. The results of your


assessment will be recorded in your Progress Chart .

A Certificate of Achievement will be awarded to you after passing the


evaluation. You must pass the Institutional Competency Evaluation for
this competency before moving to another competency.

Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL)

You may already have some of the knowledge and skills covered in
this module because you have:
 Been working for some time;
 Already have completed training in this area.

If you can demonstrate to your facilitator that you are competent


in a particular skill or skills, talk to him/her about having them formally
recognized so you don’t have to do the same training again. If you have a
qualification or Certificate of Competency from previous trainings show it
to your facilitator. If the skills you acquired are still current and relevant
to this module, they may become part of the evidence you can present
for RPL. If you are not sure about the currency of your skills, discuss it
with your facilitator.
