Die ammonium phosphate (DAP)

Applications:
• DAP is used as a fertilizer.
• DAP is an excellent source of P and N for plant nutrition. It is highly soluble and thus
dissolves quickly in soil to release plant-available phosphate and ammonium.
• DAP provides an excellent effect on overall plant growth, encourages the growth of
leaves/shoots, and improves the quality and shelf life of the produce.

• DAP is also used as a yeast nutrient in winemaking and mead brewing.

• Used as an additive in some brands of cigarettes purportedly as a nicotine enhancer.
• DAP can be used as a fire retardant. It lowers the combustion temperature of the material.
• It prevents afterglow in matches, by purifying sugar.
• DAP controls the precipitation of alkali-soluble colloidal dyes on wool.
