2. Be specific in teaching
3. Explicit teaching involves directing student attention toward
specific learning in a highly structured environment. It is
teaching that is focused on producing specific learning
outcomes. Topics and contents are broken down into small
parts and taught individually. It involves explanation,
demonstration and practice.

SCIENCE Learning Action Cell
The SCIENCE Department successfully conducted a Learning Action Cell (LAC)
on ”Explicit Teaching Writeshop in Developing Explicit Lesson Plan and Classroom
Observation” held on October 14, 2022 Friday, 1 pm at New Ynares Bldg, room 301
at Antonio C. Esguerra Mem. Natl. High School. It was participated by Science
teachers and moderated by Mrs. Ma. Virlene D. Imperial

The LAC session started with the opening prayer by Mrs. Alicia A. Boco to be
followed by the checking of attendance by Mrs. Marj Joy E. Escamillas , the
attendees were complete, ten (10) in all. It was followed by opening remarks by
SCIENCE Department Key Teacher Ms. Ailyn S. Magtahao welcoming all the
participants; it was followed by introduction of speaker. Next is the session proper
shared by Mr. Ramil B. Bellen, he tackled the Explicit Teaching Writeshop in
Developing Explicit Lesson Plan and Classroom Observation, started by giving the
session statement of purpose and objectives followed by an activity about our
personal experiences of the different application that we use for teaching such as
PowerPoint presentation, Microsoft Excel and Facebook. Followed by giving the
components of Explicit teaching, Structure of an Explicit Lesson Planning and What
is Explicit instruction Is and Not. As an application each grade level will prepare an
example of a Lesson using Explicit Teaching. And ended the session with the
question and answer.
Lastly the meeting was end with a closing prayer led by Mr. Cesar E. Azores.
