It is the first day of community-based work Immersion in our perspective barangay— Pudoc West, Tagudin, Ilocos Sur. It was early in the morning—7:00AM, when I arrived at the Barangay Hall. Me and my fellow students were tasked to renovate the Umok ti Sirib, also known as the Knowledge Center. The first thing we did was to check the books to be used and listed them. We have a variety of learning materials from grade 7 to senior high school. Before we set up the books on the shelf, we cleaned the room for almost 3 hours. The next thing we did was to list down the materials to be used. Furthermore, we went to different houses to collect voluntary contributions for the knowledge center. After we collected monetary contributions, we purchased the needed materials and school supplies. We were given a day and a half to finish the knowledge center so we will continue the next day. It was a hot morning when I arrived at the Barangay Hall. We continue to renovate the Pudoc West Umok ti Sirib. The school supplies that were bought were placed on top of the shelf. There were coloring books, storybooks, modules, dictionary, encyclopedia, and other knowledge books. After we completed the Umok ti Sirib, in the afternoon, we started to do our activity according to the guidelines, which is research capstone. We did it the whole afternoon. Fortunately, we finished it immediately. Daily Narrative Report

It is the third day of our community-based work immersion. On this day, we had to do community service in our barangay. We chose a clean-up drive as our contribution to community service. From the multipurpose hall to the chapel and covered court, we picked up plastic and swept the grounds. The garbage bin was full after our cleaning. Indeed, it was tiring, and the hot weather added up. In the afternoon, we went to Barangay Pacac. All of the students in cluster four gathered and planned for the upcoming culminating activity program the next day. STEM and ABM had already finished their tasks. The HUMSS students struggled, and it took them almost 2 hours to plan for their feeding program activity. After the planning, we went back to our respective barangays and got ready for tomorrow’s culminating activity program. Daily Narrative Report

This is our last day of community-based work immersion in our barangay. On this day, we held our culminating activity program at the Barangay Pacac covered court. All of the students gathered for the presentation and activities. Also, all students were able to contribute moral support in conducting the program. The program was entitled Work Immersion Culminating Program, and has a theme of “Engaging in reality, exposing competencies”. The audience included barangay officials, parents, and children. During the program, we did activities such as the flag ceremony, zumba dance, games, presentation of the outputs, feeding program, and gathering for picture taking. After the program, we took pictures for remembrance and documentation. We also cleaned the grounds and organized all of the materials that were used. After cleaning and finalizing, we went to our respective barangays. We continue to renovate the Umok ti Sirib as the teacher told us to. Then, we went to the officials to have their signatures on our documents. I therefore conclude that this day was really indeed exhausting.
