What I Have Learned

Knowing that a disaster disturbs the usual pattern of life and can cause both physical and emotional
harm among people, how would you ensure that you are prepared to face the possible effects of ANY
disaster that you may encounter in life?

As a student of Decalachao National High School, that learned a lot from our DRRR teacher, being
prepared can reduce fear, anxiety, and losses that accompany disasters. Communities, families, and
individuals should know what to do in the event of a fire and where to seek shelter during a powerful
storm. We should be ready to evacuate our homes and take refuge in public shelters and know how to
care for our basic medical needs.
