Many people believe that thanks to the internet, people are better informed than they used to be. Others, however,
argue that the opposite is true.
On the other hand, by surfing the internet, we have access to information and the latest news at the push of a
button. As a result, people no longer have to spend a great deal of time researching a specific subject. As a result,
they can be fully informed about it promptly.
On the other hand, some people say that many websites publish information so quickly that they do not have time
to edit it properly. The result of this is that some of the information we have access to is inaccurate.
In my opinion, we must be careful when using the internet as a source of factual information. Only double-checking
information on various sites can we properly informed about an issue.
TECHNOLOGY DISCRIMINATES AGAINST THE OLD. DISCUSS
Although it is often thought that technology is designed by the young for the young, it should also be recognized
that it can improve the quality of life of older people too.
On the one hand, it sometimes seems that there are issues with how quickly new technology develops. For example,
younger people may find it easier to adapt to the speed at which innovations are introduced. What’s more, it could
be expensive to have to replace technology regularly for somebody who has retired.
On the other hand, technology companies have tried to meet the needs of older people. Many computers, tablets
and smartphones offer longer icons and buttons, for example, which make them easier for some users. In addition,
many tech companies have become more aware that the over-65s are a large group of consumers in some countries.
As a result, companies are manufacturing products with clearer, simpler instructions. Companies are also now
asking their older customers for feedback on their products.
So, in my opinion, despite the advantages that technology undoubtedly brings to the older generation, there are
still problems that need to be addressed. All in all, however, I believe that these issues can be resolved with more
thoughtful design, considerate product development and increased consultation with older customers.
