of the initial velocity for each of the following angles of projection.
A.) 270°
B.) -50°
C.) 60°
D.) 0°
A.)

A: Vox = 6.42m/s , Voy = -7.66m/s
C.)
G: v = 10m/s , θ = 60°
R: Vox = ? , Voy = ?
E: Vox = Vo cos(θ) , Voy = Vo sin(θ)
S: Vox = 10 cos(60)

A: Vox = 5m/s , Voy = 8.66m/s
D.)
G: v = 10m/s , θ = 0°
R: Vox = ? , Voy = ?
E: Vox = Vo cos(θ) , Voy = Vo sin(θ)
S: Vox = 10 cos(0)

Voy = 10 sin(0)
= 0
A: Vox = 10m/s , Voy = 0m/s
2.) A ball rolls off the edge of a tabletop and then lands on the floor 80cm
away from the base of the table. If the table is 1.2 meters high, what is
the initial velocity of the ball?
A.) If the player did not valley over the net, how long does the ball move until it
reaches the same height as it was hit?
B.) For how long will the ball be in the air at that point?
G: v = 50m/s ,θ = 50° , h = 5m
R: R = ?
E: R = V² sin 2θ/g
S: R = 50² sin 100/9.8
= 251.2
A: R = 251.2m
5.) An archer’s arrow comes off the bow with an initial velocity of 5m/s at angle
of 20 °. What is the maximum height, does it reach relative to it’s point of
origin? How long is the arrow in the air?
G: v = 5m/s ,
R: yf = ? , t = ?
E: yf = yi + Vyi(t) - ½ gt²
S: yf = yi + Vyi(t) - ½ gt²
Vyi = ½ gt²
V sin θ = 4.9t
1.7 = 4.9t
t = 0.34
yf = ½ gt²
yf = 0.56
A: yf = 0.56m , t = 0.34s
6.) A basketball has a momentum of 3.4kg m/s. Calculate the velocity if the mass
is 0.625kg. Determine the x and y components as it is being thrown in an
angle of 40° .
G: m = 500kg , v = 60km/h
R: v = ?m/s , p = ?
E: km/h to m/s = km/h / 3.6 , p = mv
S: km/h to m/s = 60 / 3.6
= 16.6
p = (500)(16.6)
= 8300
A: p = 8300kg m/s
8.) The mass of a baseball is 145g. If it has a momentum of 5.8kg m/s ,
how fast is it going?
9.) A projectile is launched from the ground at a speed of 50m/s. The angle is 70° .
What isthe maximum range on the ground. How much time is it in air?
