This research identified success factors which can help stakeholders to
construction projects reach their intended goals with greater reliability and
efficiency. This research extracted seven of the most important success
factors and seven of the most important delay factors identified by project
parties, and then examined correlations between them to determine the
most influential in preventing project delays. Findings in this research
assert that the critical success factors perceived as most influential in
avoiding or preventing critical delay factors can lead to better performance
within construction industries and they are likely to improve success in
building construction projects. Consensus expert opinions were used to
identify the most needed critical success factors to be taken into account
when considering how to improve project performance in Brunei’s building
construction industry.
