E-Band Packet Radio

Gigabit Capacity Everywhere!

E-Band Radios Shape the
Future of Wireless Transport
Mobile network operators worldwide are deploying
5G technology at existing and new locations, while
continuing to support their existing investments in
2G/3G/4G technology. At the same time, fixed service
network operators/CSPs are in a process of upgrading
and expanding their access networks to achieve the
target of ubiquitous Gigabit service offering.

Key to the successful implementation of these plans is

the existence of a high-quality, high-capacity transport
network to link the access nodes to the core network.
While optical fiber is the primary means of high speed
data transport, it is in many cases not available and too
slow or expensive to deploy.

E-Band radios are ideally suited to offer transport

services for the Gigabit-era networks. They offer unique
advantages, such as multi-Gigabit capacity on a single
radio link, advanced embedded Ethernet - IP/MPLS
functionality, compact form factor and considerably
competitive spectrum fees in most countries around
the world.

UltraLink™ Radio Portfolio

FX80 CN
Cost-Effective Multi-Gigabit Wireless Connectivity

UltraLink™-FX80 Compact Node (CN) is a small-sized, lightweight radio that can be flexibly used in a
variety of data transport use cases related to mobile RAN or fixed access networks in urban and sub-
urban environments. It combines leading system gain and throughputs of up to 3 Gbit/s (full duplex) while
offering a complete set of Carrier Ethernet networking and packet synchronization features necessary
for 3G/4G/4G+ backhaul. UltraLink™-FX80 CN can be combined with standard parabolic as well as flat
UltraLink™-FX80 CN
(with parabolic antenna 30cm) antennas that minimize visual impact and pole space requirements.

GX80
The Leading-Performance 10 Gbit/s Radio

UltraLink™-GX80 is a high-performance radio for use in demanding wireless transport applications as an

alternative to optical fiber. Its cutting-edge radio technology delivers the highest system gain and spectral
efficiency, enabling market-leading E-Band link ranges at throughputs of 10 Gbit/s (full duplex) in 1+0
configuration and 20 Gbit/s (full duplex) in 2+0 XPIC configuration. It supports Ethernet, eCPRI or CPRI traffic
transport as well as L2 and L3 networking functionality for the delivery of Carrier Ethernet and IP/MPLS-based
UltraLink™-GX80
(with parabolic antenna 30cm) services. UltraLink™-GX80 satisfies the stringent capacity, latency and synchronization requirements of 4G/5G
RAN xHaul as well as those of a multitude of data transport applications in Ethernet/IP-based networks.

XR80
More than 30 Gbit/s Over-the-Air from a Single Unit

UltraLink™-XR80 is an ultra-high capacity dual-radio unit that is ideal for the 5G-era transport applications.
It delivers a groundbreaking air capacity exceeding 30 Gbit/s (full duplex), while its leading system gain
enables exceptional link ranges. Following the concepts of Open and Disaggregated transport architecture,
UltraLink™-XR80 can be integrated with third-party radio-aware router or switch units (as per Telecom Infra
Project’s (TIP) Wireless Backhaul specification) to jointly offer the most advanced Radio, Ethernet / IP / MPLS
UltraLink™-XR80
(with parabolic antenna 30cm) networking and synchronization functionality. UltraLink™-XR80 can be used as an alternative to optical
fiber for 4G/5G RAN xHaul as well as for many other transport applications.

BX70
Lowest-Cost Gbit/s Connectivity

UltraLink™-BX70 is an ultra-compact TDD Ethernet radio that can be used to implement wireless point-to-
point links of up to 1.6 Gbit/s aggregate capacity. Operating in TDD duplexing mode, it is flexible and efficient
for the delivery of services with symmetric or asymmetric traffic profiles as encountered in broadband
access or camera backhaul applications. This radio offers a complete set of Carrier Ethernet networking
features enabling deployment in more complex network topologies without external switches. A hardware
UltraLink™-BX70
(with direct-mount antenna) option with PoE out capability can be selected to simplify deployments of Wi-Fi Access Points and Cameras.
