    ESSENTIAL ELEMENTS

    The plants in a fruit tree guild each have an important role to play. Fruit tree guilds
    work best with a variety of plants to increase diversity. Aim for at least one plant
    from each category in your guild, but the more the merrier!
    Suppressors stop weeds and evaporation + protect your soil.
    Attractors attract beneficial insects for pollination.
    Repellers tend to be fragrant herbs and flowers that repel pests.
    Mulchers return nutrients to the soil through chop and drop.
    Accumulators have deep root systems and make minerals available for other,
    shallower-rooted plants.
    Fixers pull nitrogen from the air and make it available for other plants.
