Dissection of cows
eye

Introduction this dissection was conducted to

understand the various parts of the eye and

their function and how it is related to working of the

brain for the ch coordination and Response

Materials one cow's eye safety goggles lab coat

one scalpel dissection scissors dissection

Method

1 observe the cowseye given and compare its external

structure to that of the human eye

2 remove the fat and muscles around the eye

using your
scissors

e the fat and muscles

excess part

3 use a scalpel to make an incision in the cornea Cut until the

clear liquid under the cornea is released The clear liquid
is known as the vitreous humor
4 again use the scalpel 4 make an incision through the scler
in middle of the eye Recognise the front 9 back rear

5 Remove the rear part g analyze it Empty out the extra

Conclusion

A cow eye structure is similar to the human eye structu

Though a cow only has 4 eye muscles i.e up down left
right movements whereas the human eye has 6 eye
muscles Thanks to this experiment we got more
aquainted Ep familiar with different parts and
their functions g placement of the eye

Ethics

while the primary aim of dissection is to give the

students hands on experience with animal anatomy
though it is important the valves to be clearly
understood the students Since there are chances
by
that dissection can promote a decreased sensitivity
towards animal lives q individual or ethical discomfort
The students must understand that an animal was
sacrificed for scientific purposes
However a real animal provides a lot more
