Students’ point of view on city centre

Introduction

The purpose of this report is to discuss entertainment and restaurant facilities in Bydgoszcz’s city
centre. It’s seen by 17-year-old high school student and on behalf of his peers.

Cultural Events

What Bydgoszcz seems to lack the most are concerts and bigger events. Although there’s space for it,
like recently renewed Mill Island or charming Old Towns Square, there are roughly few of them in a
year. Considering Bydgoszcz has over 350000 inhabitants that doesn’t seem to be a lot. Nearest place
to take part in some interesting event is nearly an hour long drive.

Cheaper restaurants

Because of our age we can’t, in most cases, legally work and earn money. We only get to spend our
pocket money which usually isn’t much. City centre’s restaurants are available on condition we come
with our parents. Looking around there’s only McDonald’s offering trash food as a matter of fact not
so cheap either.

Outdoor Gyms/Playgrounds

However it’s important to bear in mind prices of everything have gone up. Taking care of yourself like
going to the gym, swimming pool or sport club has become quite expansive option and not
everybody can afford to attend them. Having said that outdoor and free training spaces/gyms seem
to be an easy, affordable for the city solution and beneficial for the inhabitants.

Conclusion

To summon up Bydgoszcz centre isn’t a place where people my age wouldn’t hang out. On the other
hand the cultural aspect seems to be neglected.
