Course Outline
In CALL 1 (Computer-Assisted Language Learning) course, students engage in interactive learning through

multimedia. Students are expected to develop listening and oral production skills with natural English

pronunciation and rhythm by watching authentic video news reports, lectures and speeches through the

‘English Central’ website. They will practice reading aloud passages, shadowing news reports, narrating

documentaries, and reciting speeches. They will also review grammar and increase vocabulary, listening and

reading skills, with the online English-learning program called ‘Gyuto-e’ in and out of class.

Attainment Objectives
・ to acquire natural English pronunciation and rhythm

・ to develop English proficiency--grammar, vocabulary, listening reading, and oral production

skills

・ to comprehend the gist of video lectures, news reports and speeches on DVDs and the Internet

All classes will be held online. We will have a regular class on 6/3 (Saturday).

Recommendation for Private Study


Students are required to perform multiple tasks as assignments every week, including a considerable amount

exercises on ‘Gyuto-e’ and 'English Central.' Students should keep up to date with them by studying regularly i

and out of class.

Attention

Students must finish 50 % of Gyuto-e by the 8th week, and 100% by the 14th week..

Students should watch at least 8 videos, study 80 words, and speak 80 lines per week.
