Literature cannot be defined in a single
sentence. It spans across several aspects of our
lives. It gives us comfort when we're tired of
the world, provides us with reflections of
society in mere typewritten pages, and serves
as a timeless medium of artistic excellence,
yet this description still does not cover the
versatility of the discipline. Today's world is
deeply connected to literature, paving way
for and several avenues that enable
discussions related to various aspects of
society, philosophy, the human mind, and
the art of writing itself.
As students of English, we appreciate the joys
literature has brought us and hope to share
the same joy with other students of our age
and through this, explore how literature can
influence our creativity.

Therefore, as a celebration of Literature, we


bring to you

Inauguration - 8.30 am - 9.00 am
Group Singing - 9.00 am - 11.00 am
Poetry Writing - 9.30 am - 10.30 am

Face Painting - 11.00 am - 12.00 pm
Debate - 12.30 pm - 1.30 pm
Potpourri - 11.00 am - 12.00 pm

General Rules
Events are open only to female students
from ug/Pg Departments of English.

A maximum of 2 participants/ Teams per


event from each college is allowed.
Ideally, 1 from each shift if not both from
same shift

For each event, a minimum of 5


registrations are required for the event to
be held.

Registration link will be closed on 20th


March 12pm

No on- spot registration will be


entertained

An ID card is mandatory. Delegate tag /


sticker given during registration is
mandatory to participate in the event.

Participants are expected to be in college


premises 1 hour prior to their event. In case
of delay, coordinators must be informed.

GROUP SINGING
Venue- Lucy Pea Body Hall, CB block
Theme : Anthems of change (songs that were
written during/for social and political movements)

Rules
Duration : 3-4 mins per team
Participants: 3 -6 per team
Maximum of 3 instruments allowed (Except
Drums)
Songs must be in English
Karaoke and Beatboxing are allowed
In the case of Karaoke, audio must be
submitted in advance
Songs chosen can be originals or covers that
adhere to the theme of the fest (No additional
points for originals)
Judging Criteria:
Relevance to the theme
Pitch, intonation and tempo
Diction and articulation
Audience responses
Creativity

Theme: Visitors from the Literary World

Rules
• The participants will be given a quote/dialogue from any literary
text. And they will have to speak for a minute on that.
• The participants have to incorporate the quote/dialogue in their
speech.
• Bonus points for identifying the character/literary source will be
given.
• Bonus points for incorporating other literary references in your
speech will also be given.
• Vulgarity of any form will lead to disqualification.

Judging Criteria:
• Content.
• Clarity.
• Sticking to the time limit.
• Creativity in terms of delivery.
• Bonus points for identifying the quote/dialogue and for literary
references.
• Vulgarity of any form will lead to disqualification

LET'S CRITIQUE
A LITERARY DEBATE
Venue- Language Lab, Rivett

Rules:
Critique a text. ( Supporting and defending the cause
of banned books and about banned books)
two members
A text will be given to the participants to analyse
critically
Speakers should avoid using obscene language and avoid
interrupting when other participant present their
argument .
Vulgarity in any form would lead to disqualification
of the participants.
During the debate:
1 participant from a team will speak for opposition and
the other for proposition.
After the speech, the teams can question their
opponents for rebuttal
If the floor is open and no questions are asked within a
certain time limit full marks will be given for rebuttal
Judging Criteria:
On the basis of clarity , coherence and organization of
their ideas or style of argument.

Rules:
Time limit - 45 minutes.

Participants will be given the theme on spot. The


poem must be written according to the given theme.

Writing should be original, plagiarism will result in


disqualification.

Students will be required to bring their own writing


materials

Choice of words
Aptness to the topic

Theme: Avant-garde and the 20th century

Rules
The materials must be brought by the
participants.

The artwork must adhere to the given theme

2 members per team, a model and an artist.


Maximum of 2 teams per college.

Participants are allowed to prepare the artwork


beforehand. No other reference shall be used

Participants are expected to explain their face


painting and it's connection to the theme

Judging Criteria:
Creativity
Use of colours
Smart use to avant-garde knowledge

Theme: Multiculturalism
Rules
Each team consists of two members.
Two teams per college.
The event comprises 3 rounds: Pictonary,
Dumb Charades and Connexions.
Participants shall adhere to the time limit.
Vulgarity of any sort will lead to
immediated disqualification.
Any form of malpractice such as the usage
of mobile phones or any other electronic
gadgets will lead to immediate
disqualification.

ROUND 1: PICTIONARY
ROUND 2: DUMB CHARADES
ROUND 3: CONNEXIONS
A series of pictures will be displayed, and the
participant must connect the words and
guess the answer.
Participants can prepare on the topics related
to Multiculturalism

THEME: EXPRESSING THE MEANING AND


EMOTION OF LYRICS

RULES:

•Duration : minimum 3-5 mins


• No vulgarity in performance in cherography
will be entertained.
•2 members per team.
•The performance should adhere to the
emotion and lyrics of the of the song
• Judge’s decision is final.

Judging criteria:
•Expression
•Coordination and synchronization
•Creativity in showing the lyrics of the song
•Choreography
