• Small circles are outlined on the forehead, emphasizing the area of the temples and the area between the eyebrows.
• Facial exercises should be performed 2-3 times a week. In the morning, smile broadly in the mirror, tense and relax
your cheeks and neck muscles, alternate your gaze left-right, look crosswise, then roll your eyes.

Facial massage includes a series of specific movements. According to the way of movement of the fingers
and hands and according to the intensity of the movements, the massage consists of 3 types of basic movements:
1). Smoothing or stroking movements that begin and end the massage.
2). Energetic or tonic movements.
3). Arm movements.

1. Smoothing movements (stroking) – or effleurage

 The skin is stroked with the fingertips or with the entire palmar surface of the hand and can be performed in
zigzag, scissors, circular and spiral movements;
 The movement must be continuous and uniform;
 The hand does not lose contact with the skin.
Importance
• They have the role of coming into contact with the skin and spreading the cream on the face,
• make it possible for nutrients to penetrate the skin, are soothing and relaxing;
• with them the massage begins and ends.
• are surface movements addressing the epidermis.
Each movement will be performed 3 times.

2. Energetic (tonic) movements

They are deep movements addressed to the dermis and hypodermis and include a number of 7 movements:
piano, tapping, pinching, slapping, friction, kneading, arpeggio.
Importance
• have the role of activating blood and lymphatic circulation,
• stimulating the seborrhoeic functions of the skin,
• stimulation of nerve endings and skin muscles.
Each movement will be performed 5 times.

 Pianotate is an energetic movement similar to pressing piano keys and is indicated for stimulating wrinkled skin
and revitalizing tissues.
 The tapping is performed with the entire palmar surface of the fingers, gently pressing the skin (similar to
powder); it is done on the cheek area, having an effect on muscle tonicity and skin elasticity. The hands work
simultaneously.
 Pinching is performed with quick, short movements, tightening the skin between the lips and the middle. It is
recommended for tissues with poor circulation and acne proneness. It is performed on the cheeks, forehead,
décolletage.
 Slap is done with the knuckles of the fingers (the three joined fingers, index, middle, ring). They are toning and
circulation stimulating movements. It is performed in the sub-mandibular area and genial region.
 Friction is a circular movement executed with the back of the phalanges of both hands simultaneously in a
counter-clockwise direction, on the cheeks, forehead, neck and décolleté.
 Kneading is movement similar to kneading dough, rolling the skin between the index and middle fingers towards
the cheekbones. They are stimulating movements helping to evacuate excess sebum (oily skin). From the skin of
the neck to the genial region.
 The arpeggio is a piano-like movement, the fingers touching the skin in turn, from the little finger to the index
finger. It is performed on: forehead, cheeks, sub-mandibular and décolletage.

Brape movements (trembling)

Brape movements (shaking), both hands perform a continuous arm, remotely controlled from the arm and forearm, a
movement that must be felt by both the beautician and the patient.
Importance
-have the role of stimulating the nerve endings of the skin,
-influences the central nervous system,
-they have a calming and relaxing effect, especially in congestive and couperose complexions.
There are two types of arm movements:
 The points that are executed with the pulp of the middle finger in the scissors of the left hand;
 The points that are executed with the entire palmar surface of the hand, and with the police.
These movements can also be performed with polices (arm with the edge of the thumb), arm in scissors and arm with
clenched fists.

Duration of the facial massage

Facial massage can be practiced from the age of 25.
The duration of the facial massage should be 15-20 minutes, and the movements performed gently. The older the age,
the more the movements will increase in intensity.
-With young skin, the massage will be about 10-12 minutes with slow, smoothing movements, and towards the end
some energetic movements of lower intensity.
-For older skin, the massage will last 20 minutes, and energetic movements of higher intensity will alternate with arm
movements.
-Oily skin will be massaged with smoothing movements alternating with energetic movements: pinching, kneading,
rubbing, slapping.
-For couperose and congestive complexions, the movements will be slow, smoothing, alternating with arm movements
performed from top to bottom.
-After the mental state, the massage will be comforting, relaxing and bracing.
