The document is a still from the film the great Gatsby, directed by Elliot Nugent, in 1949.

We can see
different characters at a party, sitting on the floor, dancing or drinking. They all look like they’re
having a good time. The scene clearly takes place during the 20s, because the woman in the middle is
dressed in the flapper style. She is wearing a knee-length dress and has a chin-length bob hairstyle,
which was typical of this era. The other guests are dressed smartly. The characters look very relaxed,
they appear to enjoy each other’s company. The mood is joyful. We can even see some party guests
swimming in a pool in the background of this shot.

2. Farmers where not sharing in the general prosperity because of the overproduction.
Overproductions influence the supply and demand they were a lot more supply than demand, so the
prices fell extremely fast, and the Farmers had to product even more to survive and that influence
overproduction. This is a vicious circle.

In the south Black people were laid off first and must move to the north but they were paid the
lowest possible in the worst condition. But that’s not all because the Ku Klux Klan made them suffer
from persecutions.

An object to clean : vacuum cleaner

A short haircut for the women : bob (cut)

An adolescent period : rebellious

Something that didn’t went like expected : failure

1. The eighteenth amendment banned the sale and the production of alcohol.

Just when I began to be interested in Gatsby’s parties, I received an invitation of him at one of those
parties. Maybe he noticed that I was watching him, and he didn’t want me to talk about those parties
at the police station. I was so interested in those parties that I couldn’t stop myself and I accepted
this invitation. When I arrived at his place I’ve been welcomed by Gatsby with a large smile on his
face:

Gatsby: “Welcome at the palace of joy my dear neighbor, I see that you are dressed up. You didn’t
have to worry about this they won’t last all the party.”

I only smiled at him while he was saying this at the entrance of his place. He made me a little tour of
the property and the rest of the guess arrived all at the same time as it was an
