Job description
To align the different activities in the Engineering Department at Dapodi Plant (Pune), we are
looking for the Oil Free Air Project & Calculation Engineer who will report to Engineering
Manager OFA.

Key job responsibilities as follows:

1. In the project team you work on the realization of new compressors on the optimization of
existing products.
2. In the development phase of new products (Screw + Piston), you are specialized in
"calculations" within the project team for the description, analysis and optimization of the
various components (subsystems) according to their flow-technical and thermodynamic
properties.
3. Good knowledge & work experience on country wise regulations (approvals) such as
CE/ASME/PED/SQL
4. Be part of an OFA Engineering Team, which has the ambition to be excellent in designing,
developing and manufacturing Atlas Copco compressors and Chicago Pneumatic Compressors
Pistons (standard + Custom design products for specific customer requirements)
5. Take the lead to expand the export business out of India and lead these export projects in
close cooperation with OFA Division in Antwerp.
6. Setup Qualification process & active participation for localization of functional parts of
compressor along with CFT.
7. Engineering Labo & development during NPD & give support to manufacturing Test.

Mission
This includes:

1. Calculation, Validation & publishing of Compressor AML for New / Existing products (Screw +
Piston) based on Airtec AML.
2. In line working with Project Team validation of Compressor parts.
3. As a calculation engineer you rely on a large technical baggage, supplemented with a solid
product knowledge of OFA (Screw + Piston) products and a strong analytical mind to calculate
or select machines (and parts) that meet the desire specifications.
4. Time to time basis Part level application / built in approval from Suppliers for functional
parts / compressors.
5. Part level such as Pressure Vessel components etc. Design & Calculation based on country
wise approvals CE/ASME/PED/SQL
6. Knowledge and interpretation of standards and regulations (ISO, API, PED, ASME, SQL)
7. Standardization approach for existing products line during feasibility stage.
8. Strong follower of design reviewer at each phase of project.
9. Active participation in New Product development OFA compressors.
10. Represent the interests and be the voice of the OFA Division within the PC management
team.
11. Supervise the outgoing product audits to make sure the engineering standards are
continuously met.
12. To solve, provide solution of Product Maintenance, Field issues to bring Warranty cost
down.
13. Work closely with all departments of Product companies and provide defend Engineering
solutions with the required technical information.
14. Organize technical trainings to the Team & Customer Centers.

Experience requirements
1. Minimum 5 years product design and development experience in Thermodynamics &
Mechanical engineering.
2. Having a proven experience on OFA products (Oil screws, Turbo machines, Pistons machines
…)
3. Experience to work within the Airpower organization in Antwerp is a big asset.

Knowledge
· Good knowledge on thermodynamic applications.
· Good command (verbal and written) of English is must.
· Proficiency in Excel and Knowledge of "Matlab/Simulink with affinity with calculations &
modeling will be added advantage".
· Solid understanding and mature user of MS Office.
· Good BPCS / ERP knowledge.
· Designing and application knowledge of Screw / Piston compressors.
· New Product Development in line with the Atlas Copco group, CTP process.
· Able to work independently with mechanical CAD drawing software (Autocad + Inventor) is an
asset.
· Strong technical knowledge of engineered gas compression systems and installations.
. Able to work within a time frame in line with management requirement.
. Able to plan and organize effectively with the right sense of urgency.
· Customer focus is must.

Educational requirements
· Engineering Graduate - Thermodynamics / Mechanical
· Relevant technical Post Graduation / Post Graduate Certification from competent authorities
will be added advantage
