Reflection

It definitely wouldn't be there just isn't any left on the earth. Even so, as mining technology
advances, previously inaccessible minerals becomes available, and lower-producing ores are
treated more effectively.
Week 2b: IMPORTANT MINERALS IN SOCIETY

Activity 1: MINERAL HUNT

1. RADIO: aluminium, cooper, gold, iron, and petroleum products.

2. TOASTER: cooper, iron, nickel, mica, chromium, and petroleum products.
3. ELECTRICAL WIRING: cooper, aluminium, and petroleum products.
4. MICROWAVE: cooper, gold, iron, nickel, and silica.
5. STOVE: cooper, gold, nickel, and silica.
6. REFRIGERATOR: aluminium, cooper, iron, nickel, petroleum products.
7. TABLE SALT: halite, sylvite or iodine.
8. PLATES: clays, silica, and feldspar.
9. CUTLERY: iron, nickel, silver, and chromium.
10. CLOCK: iron, nickel, petroleum products and silica.

Activity 2: MIGHTY MINERALS

Salt – supplies the body with sodium and chloride ions in the diet
NPK – nitrogen is the most important nutrient, and plants absorb most of it. Phosphorus,
Is linked to a plant’s ability to use and store energy, and photosynthesis. Potassium is nutrient of
commercial fertilizers.
Calcium – helps form and maintain bones and teeth.
Gold – ductile malleable and can be used to take form and makes shapes.
Fluorine – is an important industrial mineral composed of Caf2. Used in a lot of chemicals, metallurgy,
and ceramic processes.

Reflection

The above are a few ways that I, as a student, may contribute to the preservation of mineral resources:

Mineral resources will be used in a planned and sustainable way, including alternative renewable
alternatives had been used. improving technology that would allow for the usage of low-grade ores
