RESEARCH METHODOLOGY
*Always state your purpose in all of the methods/designs used in your study
Research Design
This study used the experimental research design. Experimental research seeks to
determine a relationship between two variables, the dependent variable and the independent
variable. The general purpose of the study is to determine the level of acceptability of the
Sampling Design- who and how many are your respondents (how are they selected). Define
the sampling method used and state purpose
The study covers the General Managers, Employees and Guests of hotels around
Metro Dagupan as the respondents of the study. Based on that, 5 hotels were chosen without
any specific consideration of hotels’ features. There were 2 hotel general managers, 11
employees, and 111 hotel guests who completed the survey forms from the 2nd to the 23rd
day of May in 2021. The study made use of Purposive and Convenience sampling methods to
gather data. In Purposive sampling, subjects are selected based on study purpose with the
expectation that each participant will provide unique and rich information of value to the study.
The method was used to collect information from Hotel General Managers and Employees.
Whilst, Convenience sampling is about selecting subjects that are more readily accessible, thus,
opportunity to participate is not equal for all qualified individuals in the target population and
study results are not necessarily generalizable to the population, this method was utilized for

Instrumentation and Data Collection (be detailed)
The study made use of online survey forms as the data gathering instrument. The
questionnaire was composed of several closed and open-ended questions set out to create a
conditional type of questionnaire. Survey forms consisted of two parts, part 1 included the
personal information, which consist of name, age, and gender. The second part involves
filtering or conditional questions that are intended to determine the level of importance of cyber
security in the Hospitality Industry. Questionnaires were made based on some of the previous
articles and works regarding network security issues in hotels and hospitality industry.
Additionally, the participation was absolutely voluntary and the interviewees were free not to
answer any of the questions they did not want to. The answers to the interview questions were
recorded through google forms and later on were examined and analyzed for the completion of
the study.
The study will use the following tools for data analysis: Percentage Formula and
Define tools used and state your purpose of using the following tools.
Percentage
Percentage is used to express numbers between zero and one. It is used to compare
things and used in ratios. It is denoted by the symbol %. Percentage method was used to
analyze parts of the questionnaire that requires profiling such are the age and gender of the
respondents.
%= f ÷ n x 100

Where:
f= number of frequencies
Weighted mean is a type of mean that is calculated by multiplying the weight associated
with a particular event or outcome with its associated quantitative outcome and then summing
Weighted mean will be used to evaluate and compare the levels of acceptability of the
two products in terms of appearance, taste, texture, aroma, and general acceptability.
Formula:
WM= TWM/N
N= Number of respondents
Define what is Likert scale and your purpose of using this scale.
The 5-point Likert scale used pertinent to the price acceptability of Squash Leche Flan
