E-COMMERCE FINAL ASSIGNMENT

The technology enabling e-commerce has matured sufficiently. The number of online
retailers indicates society’s acceptance of e-commerce. There is however, still a great
amount of progress that is being in these areas, both in terms of the technology being
developed as well as in terms of the market penetration and method of employment. It
is therefore an area that is rich in E-Commerce Assignment Topics. Because of the
twin issues of maturity and rapid progress, it is very important that careful attention is
paid when an E-Commerce Assignment Topic is chosen. The E-Commerce
Assignment Topic has to be relevant whilst not being in an area that is already well-
known and in practice. This requires a significant amount of awareness of the state of
research in e-commerce, both in terms of technology as well as about what is in

This assessment is based on selection of an organisation of your choice.

Each group prepares an E-commerce marketing plan (in report format) for their
chosen organisation which can secure international expansion for the
organisation.

Assessment criteria

In order to pass 40-69% this assignment, you will need to:

Show the ability to break down and order or classify the material.  However, not be
able to discriminate between key and peripheral factors or issues.

The students might produce a clear and relevant breakdown of a variety of issues,
ordered by their own classification, but the conceptual underpinning will stem from
their own experience or common sense rather than relevant theory.

Able to illustrate the use of the relevant theory/model, but with no depth in
understanding of the relationship between the model and what is required for the
assignment.  The student will use a relevant framework, but simply regurgitate and
describe material from this framework without any evident understanding of this
material. (e.g. not able to put in own words)

In order to obtain a higher grade 70%+, you will need to:

You will be able to develop realistic and original solutions in the context of the
assignment, which are clearly underpinned by relevant theory.

You will be able not only to identify shortcomings in theory or in the application of
information, but also bring other relevant frameworks, information or assumptions in
order to fill these gaps.

You will be able to demonstrate a capacity for self-evaluation by considering the


criteria and assumptions on which their judgements have been made.

1. Students should prepare a report of their analysis and findings. All references
made should be cited accordingly.
