Chi-Squared Project

Research Question: Is there a difference in GPA between

people who take more humanities, science, art, and math

electives?
Hypotheses:
Null: There is no difference in GPA, no matter what

electives people take


Alternative: GPA is not equal between people who take

more of each elective

Discussion and Results


The observed and expected tables show the values I saw in my

survey, and the values that I would expect to see. This is a major

tool I used in order to find if there is a significant difference

between electives in terms of GPA. The bottom tables are

collecting the data into one place. In order for these results to be

significant, the Chi-squared value would need to be greater than

16.919. My Chi-squared value is 12.305, so there is not a

significant difference in GPA between different electives.
