How does Air Pollution affect the visit of

Tourists in Providenciales?
Air Pollution

Many tourists consider air quality when deciding on their destination.

Clean clear air is very important when choosing a country to visit. This can
improve a tourist’s experience.
When the air is clean and clear, tourists can sit back on our beaches and
enjoy the best of what Turk and Caicos has to offer. A destination in
paradise.

However, traveling to a polluted environment can negatively affect

tourism.

Air pollution is the contamination of the indoor or outdoor environment by

any chemical agent that changes the natural characteristics of the
atmosphere.
Air pollution can harm us and toxic pollutants pose serious health
concerns. Tourists do not want to be exposed to high levels of air pollutants
that can cause irritation of the eyes, nose, and throat. Most tourists are
seeking to escape their city life to a place of relaxation.

When Tourists visit our islands we want them to have a wonderful

experience and talk about how clean and clear the air is in Providenciales.

Air pollution is a problem for all of us. However, here in Providenciales we

are not greatly affected by air pollution where our tourist dwells, so tourists
are willing to choose The Turks and Caicos Islands as their visiting
destination.
To prevent pollution we need to provide education, guidance, and
incentives to reduce air pollution.

Thing we can do to reduce Air Pollution

● Drive your car less. Vehicle exhaust is a major source of air pollution
● Keep your car in good repair. Fix exhaust and oxygen sensor
problems ASAP.
● Turn off your engine. An idling engine creates a hot spot of pollution.
● Don't burn your garbage. Burning your household garbage is
dangerous to your health and our environment.
● Limit backyards fire. Smoke from backyard fires can cause unhealthy
conditions for hundreds of people.
● Keep fires brief and small — 3 feet across or less.
● Plant and care for trees. Trees filter pollutants and absorb carbon
dioxide. Trees also release oxygen into the atmosphere and help cool
our homes.
● Use less energy. Choose efficient appliances.
● Turn off electrical stuff you are not using. It all adds up.

In order to keep our air clear and clean we must all do our part. Become a
champion for clean air, and reduce or even stop air pollution in
Providenciales.
