Introduction

While by the means of transport we have 4 of them namely: Air transport, water transport ,
Railway and Road Transport, the most commonly used out of them is the roadways for fulfilling
our day to day life needs or a tour or any other purposes. While its always said to use public
transport as much as possible but at times it is preferred to have a vehicle of our own.

Yes, I agree that owning a car brings a lot of responsibility as we have to service it time to time ,
keep it running so that the battery doesn’t goes off and paying the insurance and lot of other
stuffs , But What If we can rent vehicle to solve our works and get home save and those who have
their own vehicle can maintain their vehicle without any tension of how to pay emi and insurance
premium. Therefore, we have introduced our project (GO GEAR) which aims to successfully
solve this issue under one window.

GO GEAR, will provide option for the customer to rent 4-wheeler car with or without driver, 2-
wheeler and also they can rent riding gears indivisually for their purpose , though the customer
first have to login or signup and then provide there details like driving license, adhaar voter card
for verification purpose. The other section will be for the host part where not only rental vendor
but also common people can rent out there vehicle and earn some extra money and at the same
time they don’t have to take care of the insurance and service as those thing will be maintained
by us.

GO GEAR, initially would be a website base application which can be easily acessed by any
computer and mobile phones just by using our URL, but as we progress and keep expanding, we
would like to develop a Mobile application based on Android and Ios to give more attractive
experience to our user.
Statement about the problem:

Problem Faced While Renting Vehicle From Locals people always looks to take some time off
preferably during weekends may find it difficult to do so because, for the second consecutive
On-season, rental-car operators are facing severe car shortages. Car rental services in major cities
and popular vacation destinations are facing challenges with their customers. Operators and
suppliers in the global car rental services market are facing an array of challenges, each of which
is distinct, when managing resources and bookings. Just like in other industries, the auto rental
business presents its own challenges for a rental customer, and there are a number of ways that a
leasing process can go wrong. Car rental companies are faced with hundreds of millions of dollars
of damages costs each year, with companies saying that they are simply going after customers
that have damaged their vehicles.
Customers are alleging that some of the more unscrupulous car rental companies are also
padding their own pockets by charging you for the damages on your car after you have returned
the car - regardless if you are at fault. One major rental car issue is that many companies hide
their true insurance rates and get you to accept unreasonable high rates of insurance because
they make it seem like it is a mandatory requirement.

Smaller companies, especially, might enforce these limits, but you can almost always find a rental
company that does not, especially if you are renting from one of the big car rental companies. You
could avoid them by renting at a non-airport or non-downtown rental car location, but then you
would be dealing with the hassle of getting to the alternate rental office. While airport car rental
locations are convenient and offer reliable rentals such as Enterprise, Avis, and Alamo, certain car
rental locations in less popular cities may offer cheaper rates. While a shortage of rental cars has
affected operators and travelers across globe, report says that problem is magnified in the most
remote parts of the country, where inventory is far harder to move. The challenges in filling
vacant jobs are exacerbating the situation, making it harder for rental companies to staff their
rental counters and recruit workers to shift cars from lower-demand locations to higher-demand
outlets, industry sources said. While some large car rental companies have revamped their online
reservation systems, including everything from additional car selections to more flexible
payment systems, many remain a frustrating experience to book with users on their apps,
according to several industry experts. Major rental chain companies may claim their companies
may be facing some sort of legal liability if you provide hands-free controls that then malfunction
during driving, even though the rental agency installed them. Lately, the list of excuses that rental
car companies use to justify not being able to provide me an accessible car has grown longer,
because so many newer models of cars will not, apparently, fit the standard hand controls.
Objective:

The project “ GO GEAR” aims to solve different kind of challenges that are faced by the customers
and the companys while renting out their car and providing seamless experience.
While this project is based on project based service model which operates in where customer
feedback will be taken on later for future training of the model to give better results in the future.

Scope:
If you are looking to take online reservations and easily manage your fleet, then what you need is
a car rental booking system (RRS). Most car rental booking websites are using Car Rental Script.
The system that is being developed would allow a user to efficiently handle car rentals
transactions, planning, and inventory. Through this same system, the rental car company will be
able to manage their vehicle stock, staff details, and also their customers details and reservations.
By developing the online rental car booking system, Rent System managed to integrate the
modern cloud-based CRM, online VOS vehicle tracking system, and integrated task managers.
After giving its customers the ability to reserve cars online, websites became a primary source of
finding information about car availability and rental prices. Nowadays, a large number of rental
agents, either through registered companies or individuals, are doing the rental vehicle business.
Besides, rental companies/individual agents are facing difficulties to maintain overall
information about their business, services, car availability, and other related information. The
manual systems are not allowing customers to make bookings online, and it is difficult to track
rental car records. In the organizations that are running a car rental services, process
to find out customer details is slow, if a business is using a manual system, and thousands of
customers are rented. To develop user-friendly system which allows customers to check the
vehicle availability and reserve or reserve a car online. Customers could check available vehicles
and make online reservations straight from the OTA, travel agent, or rental vehicle market, as
long as OTA was connected with supplier booking engines. Specific Objectives of Study * To
develop a system which allows a customer to book and rent an automobile on-line from any part
of the country* To make the booking and renting of an automobile convenient to a customer* To
develop a system that could track all bookings of vehicles and returns Significance of Study This
study was conducted in order to discover if using an online leasing system could reduce time and
efforts consumed by the customer while booking and renting vehicles.

The project will consist of 2 part, one part will focus on the customer end while the other will
focus on the vendor end so that car vendor can also maintain their fleet while maintaining all the
the clause and provide seamless experience to the customer.
Methodology Adopted

1. Database management system plays a vital role in the working of this project as it requires
to store the details of the customer for verification purpose.
2. Creative UI to provide attractive interface for the customer to keep them engaged in it.
3. Java for seamless operation of the project

 Conclusion:

This project, Rental vehicle System, is designed to help the vehicle rental companies in making it
possible to rent cars via online system. This Car Rental System project helps user in searching for
the available cars, viewing profiles, and booking a car on the specified period. This Car Rental
System project will allow a user to book the vehicle. This system will make it easier for the Web-
based rental car stores to function. Car rental management software provides simple online and
offline reservation services for individuals of different purposes like business, vacation, etc. In
order to provide a more efficient service to its customers in future, the auto rental companies are
looking towards the automobile rental management software because it helps to minimise the
repetitive tasks and shows focus towards developing the new business models and strategies. A
rental car is usually organized with multiple local branches (allowing a user to return a car at
another location), mainly located near airports or major urban areas, and is usually
supplemented with a website that allows for online booking.
Additionally, this project also provide user to rent riding gears to the customer which provides
edge over any other company in the market.
