Field Calculations

Centrifuge Differential Speed


Calculation of the differential speed = Bowl speed (rpm)
between the bowl and conveyor in a
decanting centrifuge = Pinion speed (rpm)

= Reduction ratio (decimal equivalent 65% = .65)

= Bowl to conveyor differential (rpm)

Centrifuge G-force (G's)


Calculation of the continuous = Bowl speed (rpm)
acceleration imparted to the fluid at the

Settling Velocity : Stoke's Law


Stoke's Law defines the relationship and = Bowl diameter (inches)
