The learners demonstrate an understanding on how individuals learn culture and
become competent members of society.
The learners identify norms and values to be observed in interacting with others in
society, and the consequences of ignoring these rules.

Teacher will group the students into 3 through color coding. Each group has a topic
to identify and discuss depending on the color of their group.

BLUE TEAM: IDENTIFY AND DISCUSS THE NORMS/VALUES TO BE FOLLOWED WHILE
INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, WITHIN YOUR GROUP AND COMMUNITY IN TERMS OF
ENVIRONMENTAL ISSUE, THROUGH AN ILLUSTRATIVE PROCESS.
GREEN TEAM: IDENTIFY AND DISCUSS THE CONSEQUENCES OF VIOLATING
NORMS/VALUES WHILE INTERACTING WITH OTHERS, WITHIN YOUR GROUP AND
COMMUNITY THROUGH A PROBLEM TREE.

Ask: As a student of the Senior High, how are you going to value the social
norms , values and rules and regulations of your own community in order for you
to become a competent member of your own community.

Socialization is a process of learning the different norms, values and rules which we
should apply within our community and while with other people. Conformity is
opposite to social deviance which implies obedience to the norms that make a person
acceptable in a particular society, group, or social setting. Deviance is a behavior that
violates the standard norms and values. (3 MINUTES)
