Dear Coach Stokes,

In my seven years as the Head Basketball Coach at John Paul II High School, and four years as an
Assistant Coach at Frisco Centennial High School, I have had a number of meaningful experiences
that make me qualified to lead a basketball program. These experiences have made me a valuable
asset to my school as a leader, communicator, relationship builder, and a loyal coach committed to
Frisco ISD Athletics. For these reasons, I am excited to be applying for Head Basketball Coach at
Independence High School.

During my Head Coaching tenure at John Paul II High School, I was able to foster a culture where
players and coaches believed in our motto of “We not Me.” We implemented a year round training
program to ensure player development, built interest in our program from families both inside and
outside of our school, and created a successful middle school program through clinics and camps.
The unity between the players, coaches, and families is what led to 138 wins, 3 trips to the state
semifinals and a district championship. More importantly, through the culture built in our program,
we were able to help hundreds of young men grow into successful young adults. This unity is the
same vision I have for the Independence Knights Basketball Program.

Over the past four years I have had the privilege of being a part of a similar culture at Centennial
High School. While at Centennial I have embraced the philosophies of Frisco ISD, acquired a
complete understanding of the expectations of Frisco coaches, and learned new ways that culture
can be implemented into a program from both Coach Webb and Coach Kauffman. Because of my
experiences at Centennial High school, I am now ready to be an even better leader at Independence
High School.

If I were chosen to lead the Independence Knights Basketball program, you would be bringing in
someone that is passionate about the game, deeply cares about his players, and is committed to
building a basketball culture that the community would embrace. It is with great enthusiasm that I
submit my resume for consideration as Head Basketball Coach at Independence High School. I am
excited for the possibility of being a part of Independence Athletics and would love the
opportunity to meet with you to discuss the value that I can bring to your school. I greatly
appreciate your consideration and look forward to hearing from you.

Sincerely,

Jacob Anderson
