During the first two weeks of March this year the daily millimetres of rain recorded in Durban is as follows:

You are required to calculate the following measures of central location and dispersion:
1.1 The mean daily rainfall. (3)
1.2 The median daily rainfall. (3)
1.3 The mode daily rainfall. (2)
1.4 The range of the daily rainfall. (2)
1.5 The lower and upper quartile values of the daily rainfall. (5)
1.6 The quartile deviation. (2)
1.7 The standard deviation. (6)

A company is concerned about the misuse of its company’s telephones. The time of 300 calls were collected, the
data is summarised in the following frequency distribution:
