Description of the Business

The name of the business will be BJ’s Restaurant and Bar. The type of business
will be a sole trader.

Objectives of Bj’s Restaurant and Bar are:

1. To make a Profit
2. To provide one of the best service ever for customers

Mission statement of Bj’s Restaurant and Bar

“To ensure that each guest receives prompts professional, friendly and courteous
service.”

Justification of Location

Bj’s Restaurant and Bar will be located in Vegie Highway, Fountain. It will be
opened Mondays to Saturdays 10.00 am-10.00 pm. This location was chosen
because:

1. This location was chosen because the area is encompasses with few other
business that will attract more customers to come into the business.
2. Convenient parking and easy access for customers.

Selection of Appropriate Labour

The company will employ skilled and experience workers.

Bj’s Restaurant and Bar will hire twelve (12) individuals to carry out the day-to-
day work in the restaurant. Three (3) cooks, two (2) bartenders, two (2)
cashiers, two (2) waiter/waitress, one (1) Security and two (2) janitors.

Sources of Working Capital and Fixed Capital

The source of fixed capital will be a loan from the bank of SVG Ltd in the amount
of Sixty thousand dollars ($60,000.00), which will cover the cost for a fridge,
stove, cash machine and furnitures. The property will be given to the
entrepreneur by her ex-husband.

Working Capital of the business will be the stock and cash. The examples of the
working capital are personal income, food and drinks.

Role of the Entrepreneur

The entrepreneur is the person, who will be the one responsible for putting the
plans into action,

Three functions of the entrepreneur is:

1. To ensure the factor of production are used in the correct proportion


2. To raise money for the business
3. To keep a checklist of the different items and make sure there is always
enough.

Type of production

The type of production is tertiary production.

Tertiary Production is the activities that are positioned between the producer
and the consumer. BJ’s Restaurant and Bar will provide a service to community.

The level of production that will be used is Domestic Production.

This type of production is using the resources to provide goods and services to
local consumers.

Quality Control Measures

Two quality control measures Bj’s Restaurant will adhere to are:

1. To make sure that the business is up to the standard with the ministry of
health.
2. Make sure all employees go throw a proper medical and show written
proof.

Government Regulation

BJ’s Restaurant and Bar will pay all government taxes.

All NIS for employees will be paid on time since.

Regular Heath checks will be done to the surrounding.

Use of Technology

The types of technology that will be used in the restaurant will be a computer
and a cash register. The computer will be used for the inventory and advertising
of the business and the cash register hold the monies and receipts of the days
earnings.

Linkages

The business will be depending on the flow of traffic of customers that comes
daily and purchase lunch, dinner and drinks, which will also help to maximize
the business profit. This type of linkage is called backward linkage.

Potential for Growth

Bj’s Restaurant and Bar intends to grow:

1. Internally by providing Happy hour on a Friday, this will be done by


advertising all drinks will be half price for a certain time frame.
2. Externally by expanding into other branches in and around the country.
