3 CHESS CHAMPIONSHIP 2023


(OPEN & WOMEN)
Jakarta, Indonesia, 5th to 13th May 2023

REGULATIONS

1. Invitation
The Indonesian Chess Federation (PERCASI) has the honor to invite all Chess Federations in Zone 3.3 affiliated
to FIDE to participate in the Asia Zone 3.3 Chess Championships 2023 Open and Women from 5th to 13th
May 2023 in Jakarta, Indonesia.
2. Participation
2.1 All players from the national federations from Zone 3.3 Federations can participate.
2.2 Organiser will provide FREE board and lodging for Grand Masters >2550, Woman Grand Masters
>2350 of the January 2023 FIDE Rating list.
2.3 Organiser will provide FREE board and lodging for one player in open section and one player in
women section (total 2 players) for all member Federations from zone 3.3

3. Qualification for the World Championships:


3.1 Top TWO - the winner and runner-up players in the Open section shall qualify for the FIDE World Cup
2023.
3.2 The winner of the Women’s section shall qualify for the FIDE Women’s World Cup 2023.

4. Registration & Entry Fees


4.1 In accordance with FIDE regulations an entry fee of US$75 for the first player per Federation.
Their National Federation must pay this amount to the Organizing Committee by 15th April
2023.
4.2 For each additional (extra) player, an entry fee of US$150 to be paid to the Asian Chess Federation
through the Organizing Committee by their National Federation by 15th April 2023.
4.3 The registration fee is US$100 for each participant and each accompanying person including accreditation
and transportation from the Soekarno-Hatta International Airport Jakarta to the hotel.
4.4 Deadline for registration is 15th April 2023. Late registration shall bear a fine of US$50.
4.5 The complete registration form must include the surname, first name, FIDE ID number, FIDE rating
and title, and passport details of each player and each accompanying person. It must also include the
name, telephone/whatsapp number and email of the Chief Delegation and of the federation official in
charged.
4.6 A scan of the passport and ID photo of each player and each accompanying person must be sent by
email to the Organizing Committee.

5. Time control:
5.1 The time control: 90 minutes for the first 40 moves, followed by 30 minutes for the rest of the game with
an increment of 30 seconds per move starting from move 1.
5.2 Digital clocks will be used on all boards.

6. Pairings:
6.1 The Swiss Manager program shall be used for the Championship.
6.2 In the last round, players from the same federation who have more than 50% shall not be paired
together.

7. Schedule:

8. Prizes:
A total of US$15.000 in cash prizes shall be given as follows: Open US$9,000 and Women US$6,000
10.1 Open: 1st–US$2200; 2nd–US$1800, 3rd–US$1300, 4th–US$1000, 5th–US$700,
6th–US$ 600, 7th–US$500, 8th–US$400, 9th–US$300, 10th–US$200
10.2 Women: 1st–US$1500, 2nd–US$1200, 3rd–US$1000, 4th–US$800, 5th–US$500,
6th to 10th @ US$200
10.3 Prize money shall be shared equally among tied players.
10.4 Trophy for the section winners.
10.5 Medals for top 3 players.
10.6 E-certificates will be awarded to all participants.

9. Tie Breaks:
In case of a tie for the qualifying place(s) for the World Cup, the following methods shall be used in the
following order:
9.1 Average Rating of Opponents Cut 1 (AROC 1)*
9.2 Buchholz Cut 1**
9.3 Buchholz;
9.4 Direct encounter between the players in tie.

10. Appeals Committee:


Appeals Committee comprising 5 members and shall be elected from among the federations
represented. Protests should be submitted in writing to the Chief Arbiter within an hour after the round
with a refundable deposit of US$ 200.

11. Hotel Accommodation
11.1 All players and accompanying persons must register through the organizers at the official hotel
“Century Park Hotel Jakarta” (*4 stars hotel)
11.2 Free board will be provided to the invited players from noon of 5th May (dinner) to 13th May
(breakfast). All invited players are accommodated in double rooms only. Anyone needing single
rooms should bear the difference.
11.3 Hotel payments for all extra players and accompanying persons must be made in advance on
arrival in Jakarta.
11.4 Players who have conditions in above item 2.2 and 2.3 will be provided double room, if players
want to move in single room must pay 20 USD per person per day to the organizer.
11.5 Cost for full board and lodging (with breakfast, lunch & dinner) for additional (extra)
players and accompanying persons are as follows:

12. Visa

For those who need visa, send a clear and neat scan of your passport (it is recommended to use a scanner
instead of taking a photo) + color photo with white background (free size) + complete vaccine certificate
(including vaccine booster) + return flight ticket + travel insurance to Organizing Committee on or before
15 th April 2023 at e-mail: pb.percasi@gmail.com

13. Payments:
All payments are to be done to the following bank account and all bank commissions must be paid by sender.
