CONCEPT

THE NEED
Climate change brings many challenges. Among many other effects on our environment, the
biodiversity of marine life is under great threat. It is very important to preserve species, and
we humans and our food consumption play a big role in this. In order to live in a regenerative
way, we have to get used to a new menu. We have to perceive the ocean system as a whole
and turn our eating habits upside down.

THE MISSION
With our Sea Farming Delivery System, we reach out to creative chefs who want to feed on
local produce. Artisanal fishermen are supported in their catches and paid fairly. The
fishermen catch sea food exclusively locally and transport routes are also greatly reduced.
The customer, on the other hand, signs up for a food subscription. This means that a
surprise awaits him each time he receives his weekly Sea Farming delivery. After all, only
what is in season and can be used can be found in each package. Unusual foods such as
jellyfish, algae or other edible creatures are among the surprises. Likewise, common marine
foods are also delivered, but they are seasonal and may also contain bycatch.

THE VISION
Sea Farming ensures creativity in the kitchen. The customer is allowed to be creative with
new food products. In the process, he can make exciting dishes or enjoy small snacks from
our brand. The brand spreads automatically, as the subscription is often given as a gift to
gourmets and is practical, unlike traditional shopping.

A SEA FARMING CONCEPT

Regenerative sea food for a sustainable life

THE PROBLEM STATEMENT

Among many other climate change effects on our environment, the biodiversity of marine life
is under great threat. It is crucial to preserve species, therefore we humans and our food
consumption play a big role in this. In order to live in a regenerative way, we have to get
used to new eating habits. We have to perceive the ocean system as a whole and turn our
eating habits upside down. Additionally, artisan fisheries suffer from big fishing companies
and are struggling to bring in enough money.

THE DESIGN APPROACH

With our Sea Farming Delivery System, we serve customers in lisbon. Artisanal fishermen
are supported in their catches and paid fairly. The fishermen catch sea food exclusively
locally and transport routes are also greatly reduced. The customer, on the other hand, signs
up for a food subscription. This means that a surprise awaits him each time he receives his
weekly Sea Farming delivery. Deliveries could include foods like jellyfish, algae or other
bycatch. Through this concept of uncertainty for the customer, we challenge the status quo
and try to convince society of new eating habits, and in this sense, fight the waste of bycatch
that big companies practise.

To make potential customers aware of our concept, there is one event per season. To make
users aware of our concept, there is one dining event per season. This event focuses on the
seasonal catch. Experienced fishermen share their knowledge with the restaurant visitors.
This experience should lead to a commitment to our Sea Farming subscription and enrich
them with knowledge.
