IAS – the International AIDS Society – is pleased to invite you to
attend IAS 2023, the 12th IAS Conference on HIV Science, in
Brisbane, Australia, from 23 to 26 July 2023. IAS 2023, being held
at the Brisbane Convention and Exhibition Centre, will shine a
spotlight on the world’s advances in HIV research.

The IAS Conference on HIV Science is the world’s most influential

meeting on HIV research and its applications. This biennial
conference presents the critical advances in basic, clinical and
operational HIV research that move science into policy and
practice. Through its open and inclusive programme, the meeting
sets the gold standard of HIV science, featuring highly diverse and
cutting-edge research.

The first IAS Conference on HIV Science to be held in the Asia-

Pacific region in a decade, IAS 2023 will be an opportunity to
highlight the challenges and successes of HIV efforts across this
vast and diverse region. The conference will address HIV science
in the context of wider pandemic preparedness and explore ways
to reduce the impacts of COVID-19 and monkey pox on people
living with HIV, people vulnerable to HIV acquisition, and health
systems and providers.

We are providing this letter to you as a registered conference

delegate. This letter serves as an official invitation to facilitate the
process of applying for a visitor visa or other travel documents
required to attend IAS 2023 in Brisbane. This letter of invitation
does not guarantee an entry visa to Australia and does not place
any financial obligations on the IAS. All expenses incurred in

relation to conference participation are the sole responsibility of

the conference delegate*.
 Please present this letter of invitation when filing your visa
application at the relevant Australian embassy or representing
consular office. Note that you should apply for your visa as early
as possible and at least 12 weeksbefore your departure date to
ensure that authorities have sufficient time to process your
application.

We kindly ask the relevant Australian embassy or consulate to

accept the electronic signatures on this letter and consider this
letter of invitation as a valid document originating from the IAS in
our capacity as the organizers of IAS 2023. Please direct any
