Technical requirement on the electrical interface
between the truck manufacturer and PM AG
A Requirement:
As a manufacturer of truck superstructures we require, for reasons of product
liability, a connector near the fuse box to which we can connect the signals
Putzmeister requires. All Putzmeister signals a voltage of +24V relative to
the truck voltage.
‘A defined interface has the additional advantage that it does not alter when any
changes are made to the chassis circuit (wiring), and that the truck superstructure
can be quickly disconnected in the event of a malfunction. This means that the
respective truck dealer can inspect the truck without being concemed by the
superstructure. This prevents unnecessary downtimes for what are expensive trucks.
The interface should preferably be implemented as one or more 4, 6 or 8-pin AMP
connectors with 6.3 mm type 163 007-0 contacts.
B) EDC int
(see ndix A for pin assignment)
1. Activation of intermediate engine speed regulation including limit engine speed through a
separate line that is not coupled with the power take-off. This is required as the engine
speed must be also be regulated separately from the power take-off (PTO) on mixers
with a pump.
2. Transfer gearboxes: It must also be possible to use the interface where a transfer
gearbox is fitted.
3. SET - is automatically present after ignition as a consequence of the safety circuit
provided by us. This must not lead to an error message in the control unit.
4. Accurate interface documentation with process flow chart, drawings etc. This also
includes description of the possible monitoring systems on the truck, such as a bulb
failure warning system etc.
5. Capability of tapping the D+ signal from the dynamo.
6. Sequence of the start-up procedure to be freely selectable, not as is often the case,
where first the parking brake and then the PTO must be engaged to allow intermediate
engine speed regulation.
7. Interface documentation (current circuit diagram from manufacturer concerned). Changes
in the functionality must be passed on to the ‘superstructure manufacturer in good time
so that we can make any necessary modifications in good time.
8. Interface housed centrally in the truck's fuse box.
