STORYTELLING
WHAT’S THAT NOISE
Age: 3-6
Level: Preschool
Materials: Pictures, coloring papers, scissors, crayons
Duration: 40 minutes

Aims:

 Students will be able to recognize animals


 Students will develop their motor skills
 Students will learn some certain vocabulary
 Students will be able to develop comprehension skills

PROCEDURE:

 Teacher greets the students. “Today is our story day.”


 Our story is “What’s that noise?”
 Then the teacher shows some pictures of the animals in the story.
 Teacher introduces animals. “This is a fish.”
What’s that noise?

‘Tweet tweet! Tweet tweet!’


‘Who is making that tweet? I am trying to sleep’
‘It’s not the fish’
‘It must be the bird. Shush!’

‘Woof! Woof!’
‘Who is making that bark’
‘It is coming from the park’
‘It’s not the monkey’
‘It’s must be the dog. Shush!’

‘Baa!’
‘Who is making that baa’
‘They can’t be far’
‘Is it the cow?’
‘No, It’s the sheep. Shush!’

‘Zzz, zzz, zzz, zzz’


‘Now, who is making that noise? The bird?’
‘The dog? The fish?
‘The cow?’
‘No, It’s daddy, he is asleep’
1st TELLING:

 Teacher says: “Story time! Sit everyone and listen to me”


 Teacher starts telling the story for the first time while acting it out.
 Students just listen to the teacher.
 After the story teacher gives coloring papers to the students.
 Students color the pictures of animals.

2nd TELLING:

 Teacher tells the story again but this time wants students to act out and make the
sounds of the animals in the story.
 After the story teacher says the name of animal and wants students to make the
sounds of that animal.

Tweet Tweet! The bird


Woof! The dog
Baa! The sheep
Zzz zzz! The daddy

LAST ACTIVITY:

 Teacher ask students to draw their favorite animals and say what noises they make.
