Action Research Proposal
Action Research Proposal
Mathematics is one of the most difficult subjects in all learning areas. The students can easily get
bored because math involves using plenty of multi-step processes to solve problems, being able to
master it takes a lot more practice than other subjects. Having to repeat a process over and over
again can quickly bore some student and this may make them become impatient with math (Ryan
Stanley, 2021). Mathematics is often considered to be one of the most challenging subjects for
students. Recent surveys report that 37% of teens aged 13-17 found math to be harder than other
subjects – the highest ranked overall (Tutor Doctor, 2019).
Teaching Strategy is very significant in making your discussion in Mathematics more Interested.
Teachers who have mastered effective approaches and strategies in teaching mathematics can help
increase students’ mathematical knowledge and improve math outcomes (Core Learning, 20220).
This means that the teacher should establish instructional materials that can capture the learning
interest of the students. Teacher should find teaching approach that can deliver mathematics subject
more clearly.
This action research entitled “Action Research: Enhancing the Performance of Grade 9 Students in
Mathematics” aims to establish effective teaching strategies in delivering mathematics course.
Teaching is not just about delivering your lesson. It is more of how you make your lesson effective by
establishing teaching strategies that can capture the interest of your students in the whole session. In
this research, the proposed intervention strategy for teaching are the following:
a. Select Instructional Materials connected to your learning outcomes – in teaching, the
teacher should not just be focused on what is the given information in the books, but of
having plenty knowledge about the various instructional materials that will suit to your
subject matter.
b. Encouraging students discourse – in order to keep you students make sure that you
connect with them. The discussion should be interactive.
c. Use friendly words – teaching and understanding mathematics is very difficult and it could
be more difficult if your medium language is complex. Your students may not understand
your demonstration and discussion.
IV. Action Research Methods (Describe Action Research Method)
f. Plan for Dissemination and Utilization (Describe how the results will be shared)
The research will be shared with due process. First, coordinating my Resource Teacher to
check the credibility and validity of my research. After the evaluation, if approved it will be
submitted to the department head of mathematics for the recommending approval. For the
final step, it will submitted to the school principal. After critiquing my action research, if it is
approved, then it can be already be published in the campus and it can be already
accessible to other teachers.
