Benefits of Extensive Reading Based on Theory:


1. improves comprehension skills;
Reading comperehension is a complex structure involving the interaction of
many psycholinguistic processes. It goes far beyond the ability to formulate the
main idea of a text in one sentence, answer questions about details, define
vocabulary, and read the text aloud accurately. 
2. develops automaticity;
Automacity argument is also supported by studies showing that vocabulary
growth is facilitated by extensive reading.
3. enhances background knowledge (schemata, both content and formal);
Background knowledge gained through intensive reading can enhance the
reader's critical thinking skills (e.g., comparing and questioning evidence,
evaluating arguments, etc.).
4. builds vocabulary and grammar knowledge (i.e., linguistic schemata);
Extensive reading exposes the reader to naturally occurring patterns of phrases
and clauses, repeated or alternating use of lexical items and their spellings, and
a variety of other glyphic features such as paragraphs, punctuation, and
capitalization conventions. 
5. improves production skills (speaking and especially writing);
Extensive reading is an important foundation of good literacy skills. Writing
practice alone requires intensive or extensive reading to be incorporated into
second language literacy instruction.
6. promotes confidence and motivation.
Extensive reading can bring great joy to students, motivate them to read
independently in the future, and give them confidence in their ability to use a
second language and their reading skills outside the classroom.

several benefits of extensive reading for improving vocabulary learning:

2. Increased reading comprehension: Extensive reading promotes reading
fluency and comprehension, as learners are exposed to a variety of texts and
genres.

1. Extensive reading has a significant advantage as it can enhance my
vocabulary and comprehension skills. Through consistent and diverse
reading, I can encounter novel words and phrases in their proper context,
which helps me grasp its meaning and utilize it accurately in writing or
speaking.
2. Moreover, extensive reading can foster critical thinking and creativity by
exposing me to different viewpoints, concepts, and writing styles. This can
lead to a more comprehensive and diverse understanding of the world,
enabling me to cultivate my distinct voice and style.
3. Furthermore, extensive reading can serve as a calming and stress-reducing
activity. I find reading to be a soothing and relaxing experience that helps
lower anxiety and boost overall well-being.
4. Overall, extensive reading has several advantages, including improved
language abilities, increased critical thinking and creativity, and improved
well-being. By making reading a part of my daily routine, I can reap these
advantages and continue to develop my knowledge and skills throughout my
lives.

So, based on theory, study and personal reading, I can conclude that
extensive reading has benefits:

structures, extensive reading can help individuals develop their vocabulary and
grammar skills.
• Enhancing reading comprehension: With regular reading practice, individuals can
improve their ability to understand and analyze texts.
