Frequently Asked Questions

Can I re-take exams?
No, you can only take an exam once.

Can I complete exams as a group with other students?

All exams are to be completed individually. Sharing exam answers between students
constitutes a violation of the Student Code of Conduct.

What format are the exams in? Are there any essays?
The exams look and feel just like a longer Smartcase. The questions will be a mix of true/
false, fill-in-the-blank, matching definitions, etc. that you’ll see as you go through the
program—there won’t be any question formats that you haven’t seen before. There are
no essay components to exams.

How long do I have to finish the exam?

Once you click start on an exam, a 48-hour countdown will begin. Those 48 hours can fall
anywhere within the exam period, but once you actually click start and begin the exam,
you have 48 hours to complete it from there. You can start and stop the exam at any

point during those 48 hours—for example, if you want to do half one day and half the
next—but the timer will not stop, so make sure you keep an eye on the clock!

Do I have to take exams on my laptop?

You can take the exam on any device (phone, laptop, etc) and switch if you’d like. Your
answers will be saved, but the clock will keep going!

Can I go back to a previous question?

No, just like a Smartcase, you must answer the questions in order.

What if I encounter a technical issue while taking the exam?

This is very rare, but if you encounter a technical issue, such as the website crashing,
during your exam, please reach out to us at support@quantic.edu.

Does using the “Give me a hint” button count against me?

Yes, clicking the “Give me a hint” button counts as a wrong answer.

Any tips?
The exam is open book, so make sure you have the summary sheets and lessons
available. Planning in advance to take the exam in a quiet location for a significant block
of time will help you concentrate on taking the exam. We recommend writing your
answers on a sheet of paper, especially for quantitative problems, before actually clicking
them in the app. It’s important to take your time! If you are going to take it all in one
sitting, we recommend blocking off at least three hours to take the exam.
