Tidal energy is one of the oldest forms of energy generation.

It is a renewable form of energy

that converts the natural rise and fall of the tides into electricity. Tides are triggered by the
effects of gravitational forces exerted by the Moon, the Sun, and the rotation of the Earth. I
would like to point out that tidal energy started presenting an evolving technology with
immense potential.. For most tidal energy generators, turbines are placed in tidal streams. A
tidal stream is …….let me think…… a fast-flowing body of water created by tides. Then, a
turbine tries taking energy from a flow of fluid. Because water is much more dense than air,
tidal energy is more powerful than wind energy. I had no idea that unlike wind, tides are
predictable and stable. Where tidal generators are utilized, they produce an abundant, steady,
reliable stream of electricity.

During the 20th century, experts encouraged the government to develop ways to use tidal
movement to generate electricity in areas where there is an tidal range. The difference in area
between high tide and low tide. It’s OK that all methods use special generators to convert tidal
energy into electricity. There are very few commercial-sized tidal power plants operating in the
world. The first was established in La Rance, France. Let me stress that the largest facility is
the Sihwa Lake Tidal Power Station in South Korea. By 2050, China, France, England,
Canada, and Russia will have exploited the potential to use this type of energy.

Tidal power is an easy to install, renewable source of energy that does not  release
greenhouse gas emissions and  pursues a low environmental impact. Because the ocean’s
tidal patterns are well understood, tidal energy is a very predictable energy source making it
highly attractive for ………how should I put it……. electrical grid management. Placing
turbines in tidal streams is complex, because the machines are large and disrupt the tide they
are trying to harness. A serious consequence is the environmental impact could be severe,
depending on the size of the turbine and the site of the tidal stream. Turbines are most
effective in shallow water. This produces more energy and allows ships to navigate around the
turbines. I want to emphasize that a tidal generator's turbine blades also turn slowly, which
does not interfere with marine life  and avoid getting caught in the system. The disadvantage
is that the adoption of tidal technologies has been slow and the amount of power generated
from tidal  power plants is very small.. Additionally, in 2012 tide cycles can’t have matched the
daily consumption patterns of electricity. Therefore, they do not grant sufficient capacity to
satisfy demand. Some companies reacted angrily to the low energy, so it created controversy.

The huge enthusiasm caused many European countries to consider embracing tidal energy,
with France and the U.K. as leading examples. As the station enters its fifth decade of
production, we understand how to harness tidal energy better and enable new technologies to
make it more efficient while lowering the cost. Across the channel in the U.K. It is important to
note that there are a number of tidal development projects being considered. By 2030, One of
the most notable projects, the proposed Swansea Bay Tidal Lagoon, will have been set in the
Severn Estuary. The selected location holds the second highest tidal range in the world. By the
time production starts, it will have generated enough power for 155,000 homes. I really hope
that government incentives help promote tidal energy. This alternative energy follow the
principle that energy production should be sustainable.
