Now, for the research procedures, the researchers used dried peppermint leaves to create a water-

based fruit fly repellant. The dried peppermint leaves were boiled at a specific temperature with a
mixture of water and isopropyl alcohol. The solution was then poured into a diffuser, and a
different number of drops of peppermint essential oil extract was mixed in the solution for every
experimental group. The fruit flies were caught after the researchers used the controlled group to
bait them. The experiments effectiveness was tested through 2 setups. A controlled and
experimental group. The length of time exposure is 10 minutes for all sets. Also, to know the
degree of acceptance by the public towards the repellent, the researchers conducted a survey.
