Canning Pear
Canning Pear
The given diagram is a process map detailing the different steps involved in the production of canned pears.
In an overview, the handpicked pears undergo seven stages of processing until canning and there are four further
steps before they can be distributed.
The pears for canning are handpicked and transported to the production center where they are thoroughly
cleaned before they undergo a quality control process. The pears which pass the quality check are then moved to
a storing facility kept in cold temperatures. The next step is weighing and grading the pears after which the outer
skin of the sorted pears are peeled off, the seeds are removed, and they are sliced. The sliced pears are then
canned and sealed and in the next steps the canned pears are cooked and sterilized. The labels are sticked on the
cans which are moved to the storage facility, ready to be dispatched.
