THE EFFECT OF AUDITORY VISUAL

INTELLECTUAL SOMATIC LEARNING


APPROACH (SAVI) ON READING SKILLS OF
ELEMENTARY SCHOOL STUDENTS

ABSTRACT

The low reading comprehension skill in elementary


school causes a lack of acceptance of various kinds of
information. Thus, the authors are interested in
applying the Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual
(SAVI) learning approach. The purpose of this study
was to determine the effect of reading comprehension
skills using the Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual
(SAVI) approach. The research method used in this
study is a quasi-experimental research design with
Non-equivalent Control Group. Collecting data through
observation, tests, and documentation. The tests used
were in the form of pretest and posttest to collect data
on students' reading comprehension results. The
sample used is class III-A as the experimental class
using the Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual (SAVI)
approach and III-B as the control class using the
Scientific approach at SDN 103 Coblong, Bandung
City. The data processing technique was carried out
using the normality test, homogeneity, t test, Shapiro-
Wilk test, normalized gain test, and effect size test
carried out with the help of the SPSS 25 application.
Intellectual (SAVI) on reading comprehension skills of
third grade students at SDN 103 Coblong, Bandung
City in the 2022/2023 academic year based on the
results of the Independent Sample T-Test, the value of
Sig. (2-Tailed) of 0.000 < 0.50 which means H_0 is
rejected and H_a is accepted, in addition to the t-test,
the effect of the Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual
(SAVI) learning approach is 2.37 which is categorized
as large through the effect size test, then there is an
increase in skills reading comprehension in the
experimental class as much as 64% and 46% in the
control class through the gain test. Thus, the Somatic
Auditory Visual Intellectual (SAVI) approach has a
major influence on students' reading comprehension
skills in grade III SD.

pangajaran Somatic Auditory Visual Intellectual
(SAVI). Tujuan tina ieu panalungtikan nya éta pikeun
mikanyaho pangaruh kamampuh maca pamahaman
ngagunakeun pamarekan Somatic Auditory Visual
Intellectual (SAVI). Métode panalungtikan anu
digunakeun dina ieu panalungtikan nyaéta desain
panalungtikan kuasi ékspérimén jeung Non-Equivalent
Control Group. Ngumpulkeun data ngaliwatan
observasi, tés, jeung dokuméntasi. Tés anu digunakeun
nya éta dina wangun pretest jeung posttest pikeun
ngumpulkeun data hasil pamahaman bacaan siswa.
Sampel anu digunakeun nyaéta kelas III-A salaku kelas
ékspérimén ngagunakeun pendekatan Somatic
Auditory Visual Intellectual (SAVI) jeung III-B
minangka kelas kontrol ngagunakeun pendekatan
Saintifik di SDN 103 Coblong Kota Bandung. Téhnik
ngolah data dilaksanakeun ngagunakeun uji normalitas,
homogénitas, uji t, uji Shapiro-Wilk, uji gain normal,
jeung uji ukuran éfék anu dilaksanakeun kalayan
bantuan aplikasi SPSS 25. Intelektual (SAVI) kana
kaparigelan maca pamahaman siswa. siswa kelas tilu
SDN 103 Coblong Kota Bandung taun ajaran
2022/2023 dumasar kana hasil Uji-T Sampel Mandiri,
nilai Sig. (2-Tailed) tina 0,000 < 0,50 hartina H_0
ditolak jeung H_a ditarima, salian ti uji-t, pangaruh
pendekatan pangajaran Somatic Auditory Visual
Intellectual (SAVI) nyaéta 2,37 anu katégori gedé
ngaliwatan pangaruh. tés ukuran, tuluy aya
paningkatan kaparigelan maca pamahaman di kelas
ékspérimén saloba 64% jeung 46% di kelas kontrol
ngaliwatan uji gain. Ku kituna, pendekatan Somatic
Auditory Visual Intellectual (SAVI) miboga pangaruh
anu gedé kana kamampuh maca pamahaman siswa
kelas III SD.
