Project Title: At least three pages’ translation for effective comprehension

Instruction: Many students depend on google translate and other technological tools. This main purpose
of this project to help students in comprehension. Three 𝐊𝐞𝐲𝐬 𝐭𝐨 𝐒𝐓𝐎𝐏 𝐝𝐞𝐩𝐞𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐨𝐧 𝐆𝐨𝐨𝐠𝐥𝐞
𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐥𝐚𝐭𝐞, 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐜𝐨𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐚𝐠𝐮𝐞𝐬, students 𝐨𝐫 𝐲𝐨𝐮𝐫 classmates.

I hear this desire a lot from my students. They are frustrated spending time Googling vocabulary,
phrases and translation into English. They want independence and to express their heart in English, the
way they do in their own language. I get it. Here are 3 keys I use with my 1-on-1 and group students that
take them from being a Google Addict to 'Writing from their hearts'.

𝐓𝐫𝐚𝐧𝐬𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐌𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬𝐞𝐭

Yes! You have to want the transformation badly enough. If you have experienced the deep
frustration of being held back and not making progress in your career, you will commit to making the
change. You know Google is a fantastic tool. Grammarly helps too. There’s a lot of AI out there that will
write for you. But you also know it's frustrating you because it is not expressing your ideas the way you
want to express them It's not sharing your stories or who you are. Are your frustrated enough to want the
transformation?

𝐃𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐃𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐲 𝐇𝐚𝐛𝐢𝐭𝐬

Learning to write in a second language to a high level comes from developing habits that you use
every day. It doesn’t happen overnight. But it doesn’t need to be a chore. Block out 10 minutes and read
for 5 minutes and then journal for 5 minutes. Over 5 days a week, that’s 50 minutes you’ve spent
developing yourEnglish.
𝐆𝐞𝐭 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐝𝐛𝐚𝐜𝐤

Most of us don’t know where we are making mistakes in our lives until we get feedback. This is
especially true with high-level writing. Find a colleague, a friend or a coach who can point out your
grammar mistakes, the unclear sentences and the phrases that are awkward. As always, I’m here, if you

Instruction: Here are the strategies that I teach and want my students so they can stop using Google
Translate and write from their heart:
1. Read Actively, especially fiction books
2. Create a habit of writing daily
3. Think in English
4. Motivate yourself
5. Ask for feedback
6. Learn storytelling
7. Understand how to summarize
8. Develop sequencing skills

Attention: Let’s be clear though that there is nothing wrong with using writing and translating tools, if
that is what you want to do. They are tools, they help to make your life easier. However, from experience,
translators are like drugs, once you become dependent on them, it’s hard to gain your independence and
you have to wean yourself off. Some people don’t want independence from translators. But if you want
independence, then these strategies help. How do you learn English so you can be independent of Google
Translate?
