1.0 Equipment General Data and Information

Test all SF6 gas density gauges: a) Check the glass cover of the SF6 gauge should be intact and there should be no leakage of oil. b) The label of each SF6 gauge should be correct as per compartment number and should be visible. c) Check the gauges have correct, legible and readable scales. 8. d) Check the gauges have definite mark scale. e) Check the gauges are ambient temperature compensated. f) Calibrate gas pressure (density) gauges. g) Check operation of all gas density switches. Confirm correct set points. h) Verify the alarms being initiated by SF6 density gauges on LCC and up to control room during the calibration process. 9. Gas SF6: a) Check that at each gas compartment, provisions are made for connecting online moisture measurement instrumentation and the gas service cart. b) Check each gas section filled to correct rated pressure. c) Check SF6 gas at each gas compartment for moisture content after filling at rated pressure. d) Test gas SF6 purity. CTs and VTs: a) Check all CTs and VTs rated current, rated voltage and accuracy classes are as per Data Schedule. b) Ensure that all CTs are ring core type. c) Check that all CTs and VTs primary and secondary terminals are marked per applicable standards and approved drawings. d) Check that VT primary is solidly grounded. e) Check all CT secondary related circuit wiring within control cabinet shall be not smaller than 2.5mm 2. And external to control cabinet is not smaller than 6mm2. f) Check that all terminal blocks for CTs secondary wiring are of shorting type and sliding link type (isolating link) type except for Bus Bar Protection current circuits it should be 12. solid terminal blocks type (Bypass Facilities and TB arrangement). Check that CT shorting terminal block is provided with a ground connection when CT shorting is applied. g) Check all VT secondary circuit wiring is not less than 2.5 mm2. h) Check all VT circuits are provided with sliding link type terminal blocks. i) Check that each VT is designed to avoid Ferro-resonance effects and is provided with adequate Ferro-resonance suppressor (if required) on the secondary windings. j) Check that at the VT Marshaling Box, and in Local Control Cabinet each phase of each circuit is provided with MCB. k) Check GIS VT’s primary isolation device with its signal and as well as indication on mimic diagram in control room. Wiring: a) Check all control and instruments cables are properly shielded, and the cable shield is grounded at the LCC only. b) Check that all wiring is heat resistant and flame retardant, with maximum temperature of 90C° and rated 600/1000V, stranded annealed copper conductor. c) Check color coding of control cabinet wiring. d) Check that all circuit wiring terminations are identified by a permanent marking at each termination with a non- adhesive ferrule or plastic sleeve marker in accordance with schematic drawing. e) Check AC circuit terminals and DC circuit terminals are fitted with non-inflammable transparent plastic covers, to 13. prevent accidental contact with live parts. f) Check that all phases are marked, and circuit labelling has been installed as per specifications. g) Check that 10% spare terminals from each type are provided. h) Check the cable tag at GIS side and LCC side. i) Check that the wiring between devices and terminal blocks is carried in troughs or in neatly formed packs, which shall be tied or otherwise secured at frequent intervals to prevent undue stress on equipment or connection. Check connections across portions, which are hinged or otherwise movable, are made with flexible wires formed to distribute the bending stress. Check no wires are teed or jointed between terminal points. Ensure that all disconnect switches are provided with viewing windows or mechanical indicators for verification of contact 14. positions and that all grounding switch positions can be visually verified from ground level. Check and confirm the three-phase test adaptor and bushing 15. for HV test on GIS have been provided. (as per Scope Of Work). Check and confirm there are no any sharp edges for the cable 16. trays or other metallic parts. Check the labelling and phasing marking on the cable head 17. compartments. 18.
