I would like to express my special thanks of gratitude to my teacher Miss James as well as
our principal Mrs.Ambrose who gave me the golden opportunity to do this wonderful
project on the topic Substance Abuse, which also helped me in doing a lot of Research and i
came to know about so many new things I am really thankful to them.
Secondly i would also like to thank my parents and friends who helped me a lot in
finalizing this project within the limited time frame

Plan Of Investigation

My group topic is substance abuse , and my sub topic: The effects that prescription drugs have
on one's health . I will be looking for information on the internet and I will be putting them
together so I can understand why people are misusing them and the positive and negative effects
it has on his or her health .

 Entry 1

I have learnt that the poem written by Susan Wilz ,was an informative poem. I understood that
drugs make you feel happy and pleasurable. But taking these drugs can affect your health and others you
are around.
I have come to realize when I listen to the song “Drug Addicts” by Lil Pump , this song encourages
people to take drugs because it makes them feel hyper and happy . Lil Pump himself takes drugs and also
different types of drugs , which make him an addict which he is now. Lil Pump also said that he takes

drugs all day and all night , this habit can make you act out in violence towards other people and
sometimes yourself.
Teenagers are going through this because they need help or need someone to talk to and educate
them about the misuse of drugs and the effects it has on their health. They need someone to guide them so
an addiction won’t begin.

Entry 2

The first material which I got was a video on youtube . Which goes by the name Meagan’s
Recovering, The video is about a woman recovering from the misuse of prescription drug.The woman in
the video explained everything which happened to her while under the influence of this drug . It didn’t
take long for her family member to realize that she was addicted to the drug.
The second material that I found is a picture that was taken from the internet . The picture shows a
woman holding out her hands to reach out for the drugs . It is clear that she has an addiction to drugs ,
because she is laying almost lifeless on the floor .The girl would seem to be at least 20 years of age .

 Entry 3

This school base assignment has helped me to develop good working ethics and also to
become a hard/ critical thinker .The SBA showed me how to socialize with different persons in a
group and also communicate when we both have different mindsets and aims.
The SBA has shown me how to cooperate with my fellow classmates and friends without
the usual argument . I’m now able to do group activities much easier and now it is better to
socialize with my group members so work can now be completed.

 All though I had a little problem with some of my work and not presenting on time .But I
managed to pull through by giving all my best to do so. The SBA has shown me the dangers of
drugs and why we should stay away from them .

Group Report

Our group selected the theme substance abuse .Substance abuse is a noun that means to
overindulge in or dependence on an addictive substance especially alcohol and drugs. We
decided to do substance abuse because we wanted to know why people use them in the wrong
ways and its effect on the young people.

 Drug Addicts is a song sung by Lil Pump. While listening to the song I was shocked by the
lyrics that were being said in the song . The artist sounded happy about taking drugs and he even
pointed out that he takes drugs all day and all night .Which is very bad for your health .
Our second material is a picture that was taken from the internet . The picture shows a young
woman holding out her hands to reach for some drugs that she was abusing. It clearly shows that
she has an addiction because she is lying almost lifeless on the ground .
The third and final material on our theme is a poem with the title of “Poem Of The Cause
Of Marijuana On Teenagers!” The poem is about how Marijuana can easily take over a teenagers
life socially and academically.
One week prior to the submission the entire group met on whatsapp . During this period all
group members participated by doing their respective work . We learnt to be patient with one
another ,while working as a group . We learnt to be tolerant of each other's opinions.
I have learnt that drugs generally have little to no benefits. It ruins and controls a person’s
life. It has no health benefits whatsoever . It will ruin a teenager's life before it even begins .
Overall, drugs are unhealthy in every way possible.

I used standard English because I’m addressing both my teacher and classmates.
