Welcome to Quezon Avenue, one of the busiest and most vibrant streets in Metro
Manila. Today, we will be exploring and learn about its history, culture, and attractions.

Quezon Avenue was named after the Philippines' second president, Manuel L. Quezon. It
was originally a dirt road that connected Manila to Caloocan. Today, it spans 7.2
kilometers and is a major thoroughfare that connects several cities in Metro Manila. The
Quezon avenue starts at the Quezon Memorial Circle and runs through to the Mabuhay
Rotonda near the boundary of Quezon City and Manila. It lined with palm trees on its
center island and spanning six to fourteen lanes, it is a major north-south and east-west
corridor of Quezon City. Quezon Avenue is known for its numerous commercial
establishments, restaurants, and entertainment hubs.

Our first stop is the Quezon Memorial Circle, which is located at the eastern end part of
Quezon Avenue. It is a national park and a historical site that commemorates the life
and legacy of Former President Manuel L. Quezon. Here, you can see the towering
Quezon Memorial Shrine, which houses the remains of the former president and his
wife. You can also take a stroll around the park and enjoy the various attractions such as
the Circle of Fun, the Quezon City Experience Museum, and the People Power
Monument. The people power monument was built to commemorates the events of the
I986 people power revolution.

Next, we have the Philippine Heart Center, a specialized hospital that caters to patients
with heart and lung diseases. This hospital is known for its state-of-the-art facilities and
world-class medical services. It also has a beautiful garden that serves as a sanctuary for
patients and visitors.

As we move along, we will pass by several universities such as the University of the
Philippines Diliman, the New Era University, and the Philippine Women's University.
These universities are known for their excellent academic programs and vibrant student
life.

Further down the avenue, we have the ABS-CBN Broadcasting Corporation, one of the
largest media networks in the country. This broadcasting company is known for its
popular TV shows, news programs, and entertainment shows. You can also visit the ABS-
CBN Studio Experience, where you can see behind-the-scenes of your favorite TV shows
and movies.

Moving westward, we will pass by several commercial establishments such as

restaurants, malls, and hotels. One of the most notable landmarks along Quezon Avenue
is the Fisher Mall, a popular shopping destination that offers a wide range of retail
stores, restaurants, and entertainment centers. This mall also has a rooftop garden
where you can enjoy the view of the city skyline.

Further west, we will reach the intersection of Quezon Avenue and EDSA, one of the
busiest intersections in Metro Manila. This is where the MRT-3 Quezon Avenue Station is
located, providing easy access to other parts of the city.

Finally, we will end our tour at the western end of Quezon Avenue, where we will find
the Department of Public Works and Highways headquarters and the Quezon City Hall.
These government buildings serve as a reminder of Quezon Avenue's importance as a
center of governance and public service.

And that concludes our tour of Quezon Avenue. I hope you enjoyed learning about the
different places and attractions along the busiest street of Quezon avenue. In tourism
industry we don’t say goodbye instead we say mabuhay. Thank you for joining me, and
have a great day!

In the 1960s, the road was once again renamed as the Don Mariano Marcos Avenue,
after the Congressman Mariano Rubio Marcos (1897-1945), father of then- President
Ferdinand Emmanuel Edralin Marcos Sr. (1917-1989). But with Pres. Marcos exiled after
the 1986 EDSA People Power Revolution, the road was divided into two, with the
Quezon Avenue spanning 7.1 kilometers from the Elliptical Road towards Manila and
the now-12.4 kilometer Commonwealth Avenue connecting the Diliman Quadrangle
with the Novaliches District.
