1. IFA PREPARATION THAT MAKES ANY


MEDICINAL PREPARATION THAT THE USER
MAKES WITH HIS/HER HANDS TO WORK
INGREDIENT
a. Ewe Ayunre, the leaves of albizia spp., leguminosae
mimosoideae

PREPARATION
The leaves will be burnt into charcoal. The charcoal will be
grinded into powder. The powder will be used to imprint
Ogbe-Ate (Ogbe Irete). The incantation below will be recited
into it. The person willing to use this will make incisions
round his/her two wrists. The powder will be used to rub
the incision marks. All the negative things which normally
prevent medicines that one prepares with ones hands will be
eliminated.

Translation
Ifa says that it is now Ologoronjo
I respond that it is ologoronjo
The cool clean water under the rock
Those from the house must not drink
Strangers must not fetch the water for usage
This were the Ifa preparations made for Orunmila
When he was going to receive ajefo, the ability to
prepare medicines that will work effectively from
heaven to earth
He declared that all the herbs that I prepare will work
effectively

2. OOGUN PREPARATION TO MAKE ALL IFA


AND OOGUN PREPARATIONS THAT WE
MAKE TO WORK EFFECTIVELY

INGREDIENTS

a. Eku eme asoose,


b. Abe oro kan, oro icon (oro blade)
c. Ika inaki, the middle finger of an ape
PREPARATION
Burn the three ingredients together into charcoal. Grind the
charcoal into powder. Make incisions round the two wrists. Use
the powder to rub the incision marks. While rubbing the powder
into the incision this person will be saying:

Ilu o nii tobi k'ipa oro o ma kaa


Elegbede o nii lu igi ko ma roo

Translation
No matter how large a town maybe, the authority of Oro will
have effect throughout the land
The ape will never beat any three for it not to produce sound

Doing this, will make all what we do to work effectively.

3. OOGUN PREPARATION TO MAKE IPESE FOR


THE ELDERS OF THE NIGHT TO BE ACCEPTED

INGREDIENT

a. Ibepe ti awon eye je ku sori igi re, the pawpaw that the
birds had pecked while still on the pawpaw tree
b. Ogede ti awo eye je ku sori igi re, the banana that the
birds had pecked while still on the banana tree
c. Odidi ataare kan, one whole alligator pepper

PREPARATION
Burn the three ingredients together. Grind into powder.
Pour the powder into a small gaurge. When you prepare any
Ipese for the elders of the night, add a little of the powder to
it. The Ipese will be accepted by the elders.
4. IFA FOR PREPARING ESU YANGI THAT
IS NORMALLY SENT ON ERRANDS
INGREDIENTS
a. Ewe abamoda
b. Imi ojo, sulphur
c. Yangi,
d. Akuko, rooster
PREPARATION
Crush the abamoda in water. Use it to wash the yangi
properly. Grind imi ojo into powder. Use the imi ojo to imprint
Ogunda bede. Recite the Odu incantation into it. Dig a small
hole on the ground where the Esu will be. Put all the
abamoda leaves that had been crushed in water into the
hole. Slaughter the rooster. Put the blood on top of the
yangi. Add the head to the abamoda leaves in the hole. Pour
the sulphur on top of the yangi and also in the ground. Place
the yangi on top of everything. The moment this is done, the
Esu is ready to be sent on any errand.

Translation
The horse broke lose and was eating grasses

He will observe his environment
He who moves round the world is the name of the sun
Esu Odara move round the four corners of this world
Wherever I send you, you must go
There is no morning that the sun will not appear in the
sky
It is the proposal of abamoda that the orisa accept
When the rooster crows
It will show road to those who had missed their ways
5. OOGUN PREPARATION TO ATTRACT CLIENTELE

INGREDIENTS
a. Omo onile, one wall gecko
b. lavender

PREPARATION
Put one live one wall gecko into a bottle. Pour plenty of
lavender into it. The lavender will be used as body spray
or perfume. Whoever uses this will discover that many
clients are attracted to him/her.

6. IFA PREPARATION FOR RESPECT AND HONOUR

INGREDIENTS
a. Awo Ewiri, the hide of a blacksmith’s blower
b. Iyepe oju awa Agbede, the soil particles of a blacksmith’s
furnace

PREPARATION
The soil particles coming out of the blacksmith's furnace will
be collected and be grinded into a fine powder. The dust will
then be imprinted with Oyeku-Meji. The incantation stated
below will be recited into it. The hide will then be knitted into
a pouch or a small purse. The dust will be put into the pouch
or purse and sealed up. The person who needs it will put
it on his/her body and be carrying it about. It is advisable
to make it a very small pouch or purse in order for it to be
easy to carry about.

Translation
Orunmila declared that if it would turn to crisis

The indigenes of Ile Ife said that Orunmila was telling lies
The inhabitants of Ile-Ife declared that Orunmila was using
negative terms
Orunmila responded that if what he said looked like a lie
Go and ask Olaberinjo, who was at Isado land

Go and ask Alugede, who was at Ekiti Efon land
If what he said looked like a lie
Go and ask Akinkunmi, who was at Ota Odo land

7. IFA PREPARATION FOR RESPECT AND HONOUR

a. Ogede omini 4, 8,12 or 16 ripe bananas


b. Iyerosun, baphia nitida lodd., leguminosae papilionoideae

PREPARATION
Iyerosun will be used to imprint Otura Ogbe inside a white
plate or Ifa tray. The incantation stated below will be recited.
The person who wishes to use this preparation will peel 4, 8,
12, or 16 ripe bananas, depending on the amount of
bananas that he/she can consume at a sitting. He/she will
then use the bananas to consume the iyerosun.

Translation
Ikusanwo is the male child of Aje, the Witches
Asangbagba is the male child of Esu Odara
Ori-Adetu, whose character is characterized by meekness
Is the male child of Agbonniregun
When he was right in the midst of tribulation
And was in the midst of enemies
I procured a well prepared pounded yam
They said that I must not eat it
I also procured a well made cassava flour meal
They said that I must not eat it
I asked them what I would eat
They asked me to eat sand escavation

8. IFA PREPARATION FOR RESPECT AND HONOUR

INGREDIENTS
a. Omo onile, one wall gecko(the tail must not be allowed to
cut)
b. Irun Afin, the hair on the of an albino
c. Akara Oja ti o mupo daradara. Plenty of akara, bean cake
that was fried with palm oil inside the market. The Akara
must be fried inside the market and it must be with
palm oil. It must also be well soaked inside the palm
oil.

PREPARATION
The three items will be burnt into charcoal. Please note that
hair of the albino must be put inside the container that is
being used to burn the ingredients after the two other
ingredients are almost burnt to charcoal. The charcoal will be
grinded into fine powder. Imprint Eji-Ogbe on the powder
and the person who needs it will be using it to rub
his/her head from the forehead to the back of the skull
bit by bit on a regular basis.

Translation
He ran stilthily inside the pigeon

9. IFA PREPARATION FOR RESPECT AND HONOUR

INGREDIENTS
a. Obi Abata, plenty of kola nuts (very dry ones)
b. Eko tutu, corn meal

PREPARATION

Grind the dry kola nuts into a very fine powder. Use the
powder to imprint Eji-Ogbe on Ifa tray or a white flat plate.
Recite the incantation below. Pour it into a container and use
one teaspoon with cold porridge regularly on Tuesdays.
