PROJECT: Creating your own informatics company

Project overview:

In this project, you will work in groups of three or four to create your own informatics company. You
will start by coming up with a unique company name and objective. Then, you will create a logo and
branding strategy to represent your company. You will also create a website for your company and
design an app that showcases your company’s capabilities. Finally, you will present your company to
the judges and receive feedback on your presentation.

Group activities:

1. Brainstorming session: In the first activity, each group member will come up with their own
ideas for the company name and objective.
2. Logo design: In this activity, each group member will design a logo for the company. The
group will review each design and provide feedback to select the best one that represents the
company’s brand.
3. Website design: Each group will design a website that showcases their company’s
capabilities. The website should be visually appealing and practical.
4. App design: Each group will design an app that showcases their company’s capabilities. The
app should be easy to use and provide value to its users.
5. Presentation: In the final activity, each group will present their company to the judges
(teachers and students). The presentation should include a brief overview of the company, its
objectives, logo, website, and app. The group will receive feedback on their presentation and
have an opportunity to ask questions.

Written project:

You will have to develop a written project where you will have to include all the sections mentioned
above. The project will have to be printed.

The project needs to have:

- A cover and a table of contents.

- Objectives of the company (at least 5 objectives).
- Logo design. Here you will have to include the explanations of all the logos done by each
member of the group and the reasons why you have chosen one of the designs. - Website design.
Here you will have to include all the process of the webpage creation. For example: difficulties you
have encountered, the design of the webpage (with pictures), explaining the organization and the
content that can be found on the web, etc. - App design. Here you will NOT have to create an
app, but you will have to think of an idea. You will have to discuss the objectives of the app, how it
can be useful for your clients and for yourself, mention some problems that you could encounter
when creating the app, some ideas for the design of the app through pictures, etc.
- Conclusion.

Written project format:

- Titles. Arial font size 14 and in bold.

- Text. Arial font size 12.
- 1.5 space lining.
- Pages must be numbered (except cover and table of contents).

This project will be 15% of the final grade. It will be divided in two main parts: the written
project (10%) and the presentation of the company (5%).
