TASK 1

1. According to the student ID

A1=1.1 V

A2=0.5 V

F1=500 Hz

F2=1500 Hz

Dynamic Range=1.5V

The Nyquist Criteria says that the sampling frequency should be at least twice of the
maximum frequency used in the signal. In our case the maximum frequency used in the
signal is 1500 Hz so the sampling frequency is

Sampling Frequency= 2*1500= 3000 Hz

2. We have to design a 4 bit quantiser

N=4 (No of bits of the quantiser)

Xmax =1.1+0.5 = 1.6

Xmin = -1.1 -0.5= -1.6

X max −X min
Step Size=

1.6−(−1.6)
Step Size= 4

Step Size=0.2

3. The graph for the run code is given below

4. The result with twice the Nyquist Rate that is fs=6000 Hz the result is given
below

Discussion

We can clearly see that in both the Graphs when we increased the sampling rate to twice of
the Nyquist Rate the approximation of the analog signal in discrete form was improved and
we got the better results.
TASK 2
1. The reference given sequence is 101100010110
Output of serial to parallel converter is
10 11 00 01 01 10

2. We know that yi(t)=Ii(t)- Qi(t)

y i ( t )=I m cos ω c t−Qm sin ω c t

For Im O/P of DAC when i/p=0 O/P=+1

For Im O/P of DAC when i/p=1 O/P=-1

For Qm O/P of DAC when I/p=0 O/P=-1

For Qm O/P of DAC when I/p=1 O/P=1

This result is based on the constellation Diagram
