How to be a good music teacher. In recent years there has been a low demand for music
educators in Namibia, particularly because of the educational regime implemented into the
country after its independence in 1990. Although our scholar curriculum was adopted from
our neighbouring country (South Africa), music education was not high on the list of
priorities of our redevelopment. Although it is a necessity, the importance of having a good
music educator has never been highlighted transparently. I will be presenting to you the
importance of a good music educator, what makes a good music teacher and the benefits of a
good music education.

Music is one of the most enriching expressions of the human being. When it is enhanced with
mentorship from an educator, it becomes more tolerable and pleasant. Good music teachers
nurture talent and the ability of their students, whilst striving for perfection and improving
their students work rate and ethics. Music educators also help you build your character.
According to Performing Arts, a web page developed by the New York marketing group,
along with the life lessons learned, taking music lessons helps young children develop into
productive members of society. It also increases coordination, improves emotional
development, builds imagination, curiosity and countless other benefits.

Although music teachers are people who are required to teach specific subjects towards their
students, they are also required to be well-organised, conscientious of the time, and they need
to know how to be productive during the entire duration of their music lessons. As music
teachers they also need to have a passion for teaching. Their teaching process has to be
youthful and flexible, and their students have to be able to adapt to their demands.
Furthermore great music teachers are also required to have a genuine love for music. When
your teacher is dedicated and enthusiastic about teaching, they go the extra mile for their
students and put extra effort into their education.

Being a music teacher offers eductors an outlet for creativity. Teachers can design their
classrooms and plan lessons for their students according to their own preferences. Teaching
music is a very flexible job with both scheduling and the amount of hours you care to work.
Teaching music is also a journey that leads to a rewarding and fulfilling career, as the
educators' teachings develop their students' mentalities and improve their skills, meaning that
their teachings also help learners improve their in ordinary standards of school.

To conclude, great music teachers are keen to present their knowledge to their students
together with the methods and instructions they deem useful to teaching music. They have
aspirations of teaching and enhancing other peoples performances through music education.
They also find pride in educating other people and they believe that through teaching music
they can enhance peoples natural learning abilities through repetition and co-operation. Being
a good music teacher is a necessity that is used to educate, nurture and teach people how to
synchronise with each other, although music education was primarily designed to particularly
make people better musicians.
