A. PRELIMINARY Prayer:
ACTIVITIES
a. The teacher will ask a student to lead the prayer.
“Angel of God, my guardian dear.
To who God’s love commits me here,
Ever this day be at my side.
To light and guard, to rule and guide. Amen”

b. The teacher will greet the students and vice-versa.

are not present.

A1. ACTIVITY Motivation:

“Video Presentation”

The teacher will be showing a short video about Mimaropa´s arts


and crafts and let them observe what are those arts and crafts of
Mimaropa.

Okay, class! I will be showing you a 5 minutes video presentation,


about the arts and crafts of Mimaropa and later on I will be asking
you what you have observe about their arts and crafts.
And the teacher will ask the following questions:

a. What did you observe in the video presentation?

b. Can you identify what kind of art you have seen?

c. Why do you think Mimaropa preserved this kind of art?

Reading of Objectives:

The teacher will ask the students to read the following


objectives:

a. Discover the arts and crafts of Mimaropa.


b. Appreciate the different crafts of Mimaropa.
c. Create Mimaropa´s bracelet.

A2. ANALYSIS The teacher will ask the following questions:

a. What are those crafts they make based on the video?


b. What can you say about Mimaropa´s crafts?
c. What do you think is the importance of this arts?

A3. ABSTRACTION Discussion: The teacher will discuss the lesson.

WHAT IS MIMAROPA? – The Philippines is home to different islands,


each having its own traditions and cultures. Among these islands are
Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan or “MIMAROPA“.

The region of Mimaropa consists of these islands which are close to


one another. As such, they share similar art and culture. For example,
the rich artistic heritage of the Mangyans can be found mostly in
Mindoro. However, traces of it are also found in Romblon and other
areas near MIMAROPA.

ART OF MIMAROPA – The Mangyans are the indigenous people in


Mindoro, the largest island in the country. Here, we can see different
displays of art which they feature in festivals such as the Malasimbo.

Mangyans also have different crafts which are still made up to this
day. There are Mangyan Bracelets, Baskets, Pots, and more. Here
are other examples of artistic crafts found in Mimapora:

▪ Iraya Tribe Nito Plates.

▪ Mangyan Basket Weaver.


▪ Iraya Mangyan weavers at work.

▪ Mangyan Handicraft Display Center.

▪ Mangyan Handicrafts.

▪ Woven Decorative Jars.

▪ Mangyan Traditional House.


Right after the discussion the teacher will ask the following question:
a. What are the arts and crafts of Mimaropa?
b. What can you say about the the Mimaropa´s arts and crafts?

A4. APPLICATION Making a Bracelet

● The teacher will instruct the students to create one of


Mimaropa's crafts, which is their bracelet individually.
● The teacher will distribute the provided materials needed for
making a bracelet.
● After making a bracelet, they will write on a ½ sheet of paper
about “How would you give importance to Mimaropa´s arts
and craft,.-‘øæ

VALUING The teacher will ask the following reflective question.


● What can you say about the lesson?

● Why do you think Pakistan preserved this kind of art?

● Did you ever preserve something just like Pakistan art, and
if so, how did you do it?
ASSESSMENT The teacher will give a quiz for the students

ASSESSING LEARNING General Instruction. Get a ½ sheet of yellow paper. No erasure.
