The role of each school is to help the department imbibe to its vision

Ensuring high performance in every quarter exams especially in

Science teachers who are teaching in Science find ways or adapt effective

teaching techniques and strategies.

Hence, Reflective Approach is one of the many that can be used in

teaching Science 4. The approach signifies a movement in teacher

education in which teachers analyze their own practice and its underlying

basis in order to consider alternative means for achieving their ends.

Strategies on this approach are a) Multimedia Presentation b) Drill

and Practice and c) Mental Modelling.

Problem Problem 1 – Lack of prior learning theories and concepts of the pupils
Description

As a Science teacher in grade 4 I can see the difficulty of the pupils

in grasping the concepts or theories specially so it is their transission

period from a Mother Tongue Based instruction into English Medium

Instruction. Pupils are oblivious of concepts no prior learnings at all even in

higher sections.

Problem 2 – Pupils mindset that Science is Difficult Subject

When pupils as during the first day of classes what is their hated subject

¾ of the class answered Science. So how will you expect the pupils to love

Science. Pupils don’t read their books anymore hence lack the love of

reading Science lessons. They come to school empty knowledge about the

lesson. They are unprepared with the lesson They cannot participate

actively in class. This makes them have a lesser interest in listening and

doing activities.
